Back home and tomorrow back to being part of the working class!! What an experience!! I'm bursting with pride that I was able to finish my first attempt of the 36One Challenge Solo!! Tears of joy for sure!! It has been by far the toughest, physically and mentally and emotional thing I have ever done in my life... "Take your passion and make it happen". Feel like wearing my medal, my shirt and my cap to work tomorrow and for the rest of the month, while I'm on this high!!

Also haven't ridden here in the rain, apart from doing the annual road race in Oct 2013 in pouring rain. But that was Tarmac! I only recall a stage of the Cape Pioneer Trek in 2013 where it was coming down in buckets. The top part of the gravel surface was loose and caused havoc, clogging up drivetrains etc! A mechanical nightmare and so also credit card suicide! Maybe because it's been raining since yesterday morning, it'll be OK!

It's winter in Cape Town. Cool and windy, but a south eastern. So no more rain here for the next couple of days. Did a ride this morning and it was drizzling, but nothing hectic.

And how is that "tricky" descent they talking about after the first big climb during Stage 1?? That one is going to be in the dark.

After doing all the necessary "tests", I can say that YES, my Garmin does charge while recording an activity. And also another YES to the fact that Strava records while mobile data is switched off. Awesome stuff!! Thanks again to all those techno junkies out there!!
