  1. 2010 bike and you expect to claim under warranty ..... whoohooo!!
  2. I bought a set of wheels from a guy in Heidleberg.... To secure the wheels he insisted I pay R500 deposit even though I said I'd be there at 8am next morning and pay cash. I did the eft and phoned him for directions when I was in Heidleberg, but he said he sold the wheels because the EFT didn't come through and he was on his way to JHB. After months of broken promises to eft the R500 tome I finally gave up. That was when I discovered how useless banks were at providing information and I never did find his address. Now I pay cash when I've got the goods in my hand.
  3. I see Maxxis Crossmark tubeless are R750 at Cajees near Eastgate .... isn't that taking the art of 'ripping the ring out of it' a bit far??

  5. I had a bearing fail in an old pedal and service from Crank Bros agent has been far better than I could have imagined. In 6 years I have bought two sets of pedals ....like anything, look after them and they'll last forever!! The main reason I went to egg-beaters was because I was sick of trying to clip muddy shoes into SPD ... those egg-beaters go straight in no matter how much mud you have on your shoes.
  6. Nothing wrong with Crank Brothers reliability or back-up. I switched from Shimano coz Crank Bros is much easier to get in and out of when its muddy.
  7. I've got Candy pedals. Never had a problem in 3-years until Dec.... place in PTA services and repairs them. Your LBS should know otherwise call Finish Line Cycles
  8. Did anyone notice the professional team doing photography at the Dunblane event....
  9. Hopefully I'll be riding.... Happy Martin .... I assume it was tied down and it was on a piece of single track where we all came through in single file - a race near Muldersdrift about 5 years ago.
  10. I ordered some photographs from The Fast One MTB and was surprised with the amount of editing I had to do on the three images. Basics were wrong; like getting the pic level, and lighting (oh when will photographers realise a cyclists face is in shadow 90% of the time .... only on one event did I see a reflector board being used.... don't even get me started on framing, composition or sharpness. Why won't event photo companies use professional photographers .... oh, how silly of me, it's because they're too greedy!!!
  11. I earn a living from photography and was insulted by a well known event photography company that offered me R800 to shoot the 94.7. I use my cameras, lenses, batteries, flash etc for the entire field so that is 9-hours work .... and to top it all they own the photographs .... no thanks!!! I have refused to pay for photographs mailed to me in the past as they are not only badly composed, but also terrible from a technical point of view. Most event companies pay peanuts and get monkeys and unfortunately it is reflected in the final product. However, I will vouch for OakPics.... no I do not know the owner!!
  12. Judgement: Pedal Power Association vs Cycling SA and SASCOC 14 February 2014 – The judgement for the case between the Pedal Power Association (PPA), Cycling South Africa and the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) was handed down this morning. Her Ladyship, Justice Savage, delivered judgement in the matter of the PPA versus Cycling SA and SASCOC, which was decided in favour of the PPA. Cycling SA respect the legal process and, together with SASCOC’s legal representatives, are considering the judgement in order to chart the way forward. Cycling SA remains committed to doing what is in the best interests of our sport.
  13. Another reason why I'll never set foot in any Cajees store is that about a year after my MTB was stolen in 2007, Polar phoned me to tell my unit was uneconomical to repair. I explained it had been stolen and asked how they got it. They said it came from Cajees Southgate, but those were the only details they had so I drove to Cajees explained my problem and they were not interested at all. Wouldn't give me customers name or contact details ...
  14. They do .... not sure of time.or contact details ... google? I rode with them once or twice, but they were way to fast for me on my MTB
  15. ... and which are more profitable for the event?
