I was ask to put this on The Hub. This is a step in the right direction and can be a benefit to Pretoria cyclist and can also be the start of a country wide campaign. PLS HELP!!! "I have submitted questions based on the concerns raised to council, as soon as I know if it will form part of the March Council Meeting. However, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! To compile some stats could all of you please send information of the following incidents that took place to either yourself as cyclist or to a cyclist you might know, if you could provide a case number please do so, as this will strengthen our case: (a) Incidents where cyclists were injured through criminal activities (attacked with knifes etc); ( B) incidents where cyclists were robbed while riding; © incidents where cyclists were injured by means of accidents on the road, hit by trucks, cars etc; I urgently plea with all of you to assist me with this poll, in order to strengthen our case!" I was in the position (5 years) where the gains/losses was calculated after a race. I have seen someone trying to calculate the profit, but I can assure you without sponsors a fairly big event runs at a loss. Just add the MC, TV coverage, entertain sponsors, timing, hire off toilets, traffic department to mention a few to the list that are paid out off the race entry fee.
