  1. Slowpoke, you need to understand that I do not, in anyway think that the Helivac Marshals is not pasionate. I also I believe they do a great job on the road. I am on record more than once stating this. My points doesn't have a thing to do with their ability to keep all road users safer and even create road safety awareness. To my mind, that is beyond reproach. It is however a fact that someone on the TB Forum is leaking information from the closed areas of the TB Forum to other forums. I have no respect for such a person regardless of who he is. I do not and did not in anyway suggest this person is in anyway connected with Helivac Marshals.
  2. I never said that you see a biker as fair game. I am not making any excuses. I believe your agenda is, in fact, to damage Stramger and ThinkBike. I cannot express myself on so-called bikers attempting to threaten you. I will not get over the privacy issue. I cannot and will not stop expressing my utter disgust at someone abusing trust. I did not highlight the entore context as it is clear to see for anyone who wishes to do so. Also, I do NOT copy and paste information from a private forum to a public one.
  3. WHoaaa Pieman! Finally something we agree on! ;-) No, I do not encourage lawless behaviour. What I am saying is that if you see only part of a conversation that took place in private it is highly likely that you would misunderstand as you do not know the whole context of what was said, or discussed. It seems you are encouraging lawless behaviour as you seem to not care much about the privacy laws being broken? I did NOT say I know the Subaru guys and anything. I clearly stated that I continue onward with your example of using the Subary forum as an example. I do repeat, that if I saw anything from any private area of a forum, posted over to a public forum, my biggest concern would be for the hidden agenda of the original poster. I would want to know WHY? What is the reason? When I then see someone like yourself, insist on making, what is clearly a silly (at worst stupid) remark into the ethos of TB, I also wonder about your agenda, but then I visit your profile on Facebook and I understand.
  4. Let's take the Subaru Forum example you used and take that further: First, if such a statement was made on a private part of the Subaru Forum, I would not know about it and as such, could not care about it either way. Second, if someone on the inside of the Subaru Forum took the post out of the private area and reposted on a public forum, such as The Hub, I would immediately question the agenda of such a poster. To me, this is the same as sharing the contents of a private mail in public and it is especially devious if used out of context. Thirdly, if I knew that the Subaru crowd were ardent bike supporters and I regularly saw them at biker's meeting, helping with traffic arangements, keeping bikers safe, etc. I would really question the post and accept that it looks worse than it is, because it was posted out of context and out of line by someone, clearly intent on causing harm. When push comes to shove, any cyclist here who has experienced the TB Marshals in action, will know that we at TB and especially the TB Marshals are passionate about road safety in general and biker and cyclist safety in particular. This is fact. This of course doesn't mean that we do not say stupid things or make stupid jokes.
  5. Do keep in mind, he did not make the statement on an public forum. It was made on a closed and private part of the forum, tantamount to speaking in his house. Someone, basically a person guilty of "espionage" made the screendump and posted it here. Please note, I am not saying it is acceptable that Stranger made the comment, but accept that you do not have the contex and that it was not posted on a public forum. I believe it was transfered here with the express purpose of damaging TB's name under cyclists. Cyclists who know full well that TB and Stranger is very passionate about your safety.
  6. Ah! Of course. It had to be ..... Keep in mind, the screenshot you see on here was taken from a closed part of the forum and you are not seeing the whole thread, so you do not have the full context. This is not an excuse, just a fact. I reckon, if the comment really bothers you, to please e-mail Stranger and express your concern. The best idea I have seen in this regard fandacious. I would even suggest you also copy directors@thinkbike.co.za.
  7. One, I was never against TB or the TB Marshals. Your memory seems to be failing you, but yes, that is understandable. The comments by the CHairman of the TB Board is of no importance. It is a silly statement made in a joking fashion and no different to many that you, I and others on forums regularly make. What should make you wonder is why you believe you have to drive your silly little crusade against TB to this level of infantalism.
  8. Let me try again. Slowpoke, gaan k@k in die mielies. How am I doing so far? Well said TNT1 and very true. Keep in mind that our friend Pieman is a staunch anti ThinkBike man and as such will latch onto the tiniest little stick to beat the doggie.
  9. No worry, I didn't see it as an attack on ThinkBike. You guys can only say this if you are 100% sure that, you, your close family, your kids, will never, ever do something stupid in all their lifes. Me, I thank the deity of my choice every day that I did not kill myself or an innocent bystander because I did something stupid during the day.
  10. Think Bike is a request. At best we can distribute stickers, hang banners and ask other road users to be considerate. Some will and some won't. Some will be in cars, while others will be on bikes. Unfortunately, that is life as we know it. Some people are just downright inconsiderate, but keep in mind that their mode of transport is purely coincidental. Personally, I feel compassion for someone who is injured, or worse, dead. Even if the injury or death is a result of his own making. We are all, after all, human and screw up all the time. Nobody deserves serious bodily harm or death, because they did something stupid.
