I started at 9:15 and finished at 14:13. My Polar CS400 recorderd the avg temp for the 1st half at 32C and the avg temp for the 2nd half at 41C. The max temp recorded was 51C @ chapmans.
It was an awesome weekend of mountain biking with comfortable accommodation, excellent food and a relaxed atmosphere. The night race was fast and furious but still bags of fun. Day 2 was a very interesting ride with mostly jeep track that took us through various game farms. The last 9 km into a headwind was a bit of a challenge for some guys. Day 3 proved that the best was kept for last, a great mixture of short climbs and flatter areas with loads and loads of single track. It’s not too technical but there are some tricky areas that tested our focus. I would recommend this ride to experienced riders as well as newbie’s that want to participate in their first stage race.
