  5. Domstique on local circuit R140k - R250k, this is guess work based on conversation with one of the local teams managers last year. Burry, Kevin and so on must be up there in the R600 k mark. Robbie is in a different class altogether... for now. Remember these guys do not get to keep any prize money, all goes to the sponsor / team.
  6. I have a Camelbak, mudguard, hi-risers, bar ends, carry a shitload of spares and have completed two Sani's, 3 Sabi's. one Epic, Berg and Bush, KKK a ridiculaous amount of other racers and despite this very un-cool load of tit bits on my bike my kids still think I'm "cool".
  7. Ride, ride and then ride some more. Start off with base training 1500 km at relatively easy pace (+/- two months) then start with interval training and more rigourous rides. Try riding at least 3 times in the week for 1 - 2 hrs and then get a long hard ride (80 - 120kms can be on road bike, but try doing MTB as much as possible) in on Saturdays with a slow recovery ride on Sunday (50 -70km)
  8. Here's my "Spokie" there aint nothing she cannot ride over, up or down. Handles like a dream.
  9. Someone should come up with a new computer game called "Street Wars"
  10. I savoured some of Woolies food once, does that make me a savourer? This whole debacle is a lot of b@#@s, as someone said above, bet those so called peole of faith did not buy the mags.
  11. All these feeble excuses why not to greet other cyclists/runners/walkers, it really costs nothing to raise a hand in ackowledgement of another like minded individual, like you, also up at some ridiculous hour, whether he/she be cycling running or walking. Get over yourself and try it, you might like it. If not go cage fighting, it might suit your demeanour more.
  12. if you don't like it, don't pay for it. As for "newbie's" only being allowed to do short / medium races is like saying you are only allowed to buy a small 1000cc car if you drive less than 20 kms a day. Silly.
  13. Anybody in the City Bowl area training for Tran Baviaans on Sat 10 July, coming from Kimberley to visit kids in CT and would like to join a group.
