  1. Hi Guys, Anyone know the dates and venues for the USN series this year? Trying to plan ahead and cant seem to find any info. I know event 1 is done, event 2 on 18 Feb at Voortrekker Monument. Also, if anyone has ridden at Voortrekker monument before, what can I expect? Thanks
  2. "tos"testerone" - ha ha, brilliant! Lot of aggro coming through from on this post, have we all got a little post shave rash perhaps? No cars to kick, or to try and kill you, when you are off the beaten track. Stick to mountain biking - your car, and / or feet, will appreciate you for it.
  3. I am pretty much in the same boat as you, just starting out. I bought myself a new bike for half the price you are looking at spending and so far so good. Here is my logic: Bought a giant Talon 29er (I know you are looking for a softail but bear with me ), great bke, low-end compenents and by all accounts a really shite fork, BUT, fact remains at this stage bike in standard form is better than I am. As I get better, will either start upgrading components or looking at "better" bikes etc, Just a thought, use it, dont use it... Good luck
  4. Thanks for the info guys, had a chance to do both this weekend, Emmarentia nice early in the morning but doesnt compete with the spruit at all. Decision made !
  5. Thanks Andre, not a bad idea, but need to recce the spruit first, perhaps join a (slow) group ride and see whats what. Also, been seeing contradicting posts regarding psychotic vagrants, if it is a bit rough I may be an easy target solo that early in the morning. Bear in mind this is all borne out of complete ignorance, I just dont know. Emmarentia just seems like a safer bet, and I will know how long it will take me to get back home to go to work should I need to push!
  6. Hi Guys, new Hubber here, have been following posts for a while and impressed with the wealth of knowledge and advice, now time to get stuck in. Does anyone know what time Emmarentia opens? I live in Greenside and am looking to get some early morning laps in before work and the dog walkers come in, say between 06:00 and 06:45. Anyone know if the gates are open at this time? Thanks James
