  1. Weight 70kg, height 1.65m. I have been riding for a couple of months and currently have a Merida TFS 300. Its time for an upgrade. Ride mostly Northern Suburb trails and only do 1 day races at the moment. Lighthouse to Lighthouse will be my first stage race and I am thinking of doing the Stormsriver Traverse after that. Which bike will suite me better?
  2. Thank you!
  3. Need new Mtb shoes, what is out there at a good price?
  4. I weigh 70kg and is 1.65m tall(small frame, shame). I try to do 1 race per month, the longer distance available. I am planning my first stage race which is the Lighthouse to Lighthouse. I am pretty new to the sport so i need some advice. Not planning any other stage races besides the Epic, lol Might do the Stormsriver Traverse next year.

  6. Who has done it and who is doing it next year? Any specific training to be done? What is it like?
  7. Some feedback ladies. I did the 20km Tygerberg Mtb funride today while we had a stand on display there. Not good news. My legs bombed out again. Very frustrating!!!! I did klap it though and it was climbing all the way through Contermans but i suppose TITS are the order of the day!!! Hard work lying ahead. Thank you for all the help.
  8. Is that the hill with the cement jeep track?
  9. Thank you for all the advice guys. Much appreciated! I suppose it boils down to i need more time on my iron horse. If i dont have enough time for more riding I will try all the other suggestions. RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!
  10. Shot Frank, much appreciated. Very interesting and i will try it out. If it worked for Lance i am sure it will work for anybody.
  11. My legs get sore and tired quicker than theirs. After a long ride my legs are stiff and sore and theirs are not.
  12. Love T I T S. Whatever that means! Please tell me......... Oh ok, now i catch it......................TIMW IN THE SADDLE. Dont have time, what now????????
  13. Thank you for the advice. I have mostly been training in the Northern Suburbs, riding Meerendal, Green Corridor, Hillcres, Ntida etc. I am definately making a plan to ride Tokai. So the verdict is time in the saddle! Love this sport, taking over my life!!! Used to ride MX but had a bad car accident so the obsession is starting all over
  14. Thanks mate, only problem is i dont get to ride that often, work shitty hours
  15. Hey dudes. I need help. I have been riding mtb for a couple of months, i am super fit (at least i think so ). I have been training in the gym and riding hard. The problem is that i am riding with friends that have been riding for a couple of years. The deal is, i can keep up cardio wise but my legs are not as strong as theirs. I need a serious gym program to strengthen my legs. I am training for the Lighthouse to Lighthouse and i need more vooma in my legs. I must say that i have become addictive to this awesome sport but i find myself in a very frustrating space at the moment. Please help!!!
