  1. Have the Carbon Expert Stumpy 29er, this years model. What a bike!!!! You will not be sorry! It is an amazing bike.
  2. These bikes have to be brought over on special delivery, 8-12 week wait. Chances of finding a demo will be pretty rare, however the reviews on these bikes are amazing. I am looking to order a Carbon 2 myself, you will need to put down 50% upfront, the Carbon 2 is going for 50k and the 1 about 60k. Good luck.
  3. Looking for some feed back from Jekyll owners. Found one or two reviews but would like some more info. Question, can the Jekyll be my all rounder, days when i cant hit the trail but can do some xc? Any idea on prices! Cheers. Please pm or reply.
  4. Ok, all fair and square! Took the SC back to my friend after the test day, great ride. Went for another ride the morning after on my hardtail, as i was pulling away thought i would drop the rear tyre pressure abit. I had such an incredible ride that morning, everything felt so in place I was so stocked with my hardtail i had completely forgotten about the Santa Cruz.? I dont know now, still waiting for the Scalpel test run, but until then remaining very open minded. Merry Christmas to you all! Lets see what the new year brings in?
  5. The bike is been offered to me for 35k, which according toall the info i,ve got from the thread sounds more than decent. I,ve just come back from test riding it and was very impressed!! BUT i,m alittle worried about the size, it is a xtra large but seemed alittle on the small side, my XTC xl feels more my size, i also rode my mates Stummpy straight after and that is also a extra large and that felt better also. ive heard Santa cruz make a xxl?? Im 6,3 and weigh 90kg, could the size be a concern?
  6. Ok, great feed back thank you, now what kind of life span would I get out of a carbon bike? I look after my gear very well, will have it serviced when needed and clean it after rough use. If I buy this bike and spend that kind of money it needs to last! Cheers
  7. Hey guys Sourced a Tallboy with following specs, please give me an indication on rough price guide? Santacruz Tallboy Carbon (4months old) Easton wheels EA90 XC Easton carbon seat post Richey carbon light bars Richey carbon stem Fox F 29 (32) Float fox RP 23 Rear XTR Brakes Sram XX Crankset /Gears Bike is in a very good condition, well looked after. ??? How much Cheers
  8. Well, it looks like a Scalpel is leading the field at the moment. There is a nice review of a Scalpel 2 in the latest Tread. I will however have to wait until March to get my hands on one, worth the wait I,m sure!, UNTIL THEN..... Cheers for the input and enjoy the ride.
  9. Hey Guys What to do??? I've dropped the price on my XTC down to R11.5K only four weeks old, but want to shift it! I've got bike fever! I am now going to upgrade to a full suspension bike, the problem is there are so many options! I've been looking at the following, my thinking is I will keep this upgrade hopefully for alot longer than four weeks, ha ha more like a couple of years. That is why I dont want to make the same mistake as I did with the XTC, not that there is anything wrong with the bike, its a great ride I just want something more. Here is my short list, please give me some pointers and opions regarding the list. Cannondale Scalpel Santa Cruz Tallboy Specialized Stumpjumper Epic Camber ???????????? Cheers
  10. Thanks for the heads up! Posted it on the forum for R12k, reasonable price I think. I've started to look at the Cannondales?? Nice!! Thanks again.
  11. Just bought the XTC 29er and loving the bike, but after couple of trails thinking maybe should have gone full suspension and spent some more. The bike is great but I'm thinking that in the future I might be sorry I didn't splash out more. So while it's still new I could still get a good price and pay up the difference on a full suspension long term bike. Im thinking 30k?? What are your thoughts?? Also does anyone take trade ins?? Cheers
  12. Hi Guys Started at the dam, up to just below the mast and down the black stuff. I ate some dirt comming down the black stuff and thought they might have come out there. We re rode the entire route and check where I bought the farm but with no luck. It's such a small single track that they could bounce of to the side and into the long grass and that will make finding them even more difficult. I'm going to ride it again this week and then walk it also for a last look. To repalce the key is a major headache, first I have to book into Mercedes so they can change the info on the existing key, just incase someone picks up the lost key and wants to drive off with my van. Once they have change the info on the vans computer they will oder a replacment key from Germany, 8-15 days to arrive. The whole deal R2900, an expensive morning out!! I found some guys in Brackenfell who can do the same for R2000 and issue and new key immediately, takes them an hour to read the info off the computer and match it to my existing key. an option? Here's holding thumbs they turn up soon, cant wait to long just incase the other one should go missing then big problems!! Cheers Wilfred
  13. Hi Guys Had a great ride this morning until I got back to the car to discover my keys and multi tool and bombs all gone form my saddle pouch!! The zip unzipped itself and dropped the lot somewhere on the route. I did double back the entire ride but no luck, great ride shame about the key!!! If anyone should find a electronic Mercedes key please could you give me a shout on the number below, not to stressed about the rest. Thank you Wilfred 0846200007
  14. Thank you for the replies. For what I am using the bike a massive saving in weight from changing wheels is not such a big issue. The main thing is to get them tubless for easier repairs, I can patch a tube but figure from what I've been reading and heard tubless is the way forward. It sounds like the conversion would be the way to go, thus keeping the good tyres and rims and keeping costs down. Thanks for the help. Cheers Wilfred
  15. Hi Guys Was hoping for some advice, please. I've just bought a Giant XTC 1 29er, I need to change over to tubless but thinking of mybe upgrade the rims and tyres instead of just doing the conversion. Could you please shed some light on what my best options are here and is second had a option, also do I need to change the hubs when changing the wheels etc.I'm a little lost, so any advice would really be great. Thank you Regards Wilfred
