  1. Great Thanks. Who does ergofit in JHB?
  2. Its a 56cm. I'm 1.78m tall with a 82 cm inseam. Ride medium 17.5' mtb. Was told to get a 55cm with 170mm cranks.
  3. Hi Guys, Riding my first Argus in March 2013. Looking to by a road bike for this. I'm a mtbiker. Need advice on buying a road bike. Found a Schwinn Fastback, Tiagra Groupset 2 x 9 with Campagnolo Scirocco G3 Rims ITM Millenium Full Carbon Fork ITM Millenium Handle Bars Scud Carbon Titanium Saddle Look Peddles Serfas Carbon Bottle Holders for R3800 Is this a good deal?
  4. Found it! does seems abit strange. 021 number seems like its is Cape Town. Have you tried to call them?
  5. Arlingtoncycles.com. Cant even find their website. on google how did you find them?
  6. Judging by its colour I'd say Rinkhals. Did you see the colour on the underside?
  7. Thanks this was very useful. Quick question if you take a loan over say 5 years and pay it off within the 1st year how much do you end up paying? penalties etc?
  8. Thanks. Thats what I was saying.
  9. Its the best riding bike I've ever ridden and I wont buy another hardtail again unless I break it. Weighing 72kgs I doubt that will be anytime soon. Aiming to use the hardtail for day races and buy a dual sus for stage races.
  10. its a small. unfortunately. Looking for a medium beinmg 1.78m tall.
  11. This is not including insurance. But an answer I was considering. Why would I only keep a bike for 2 years. Does it only have a lifespan of 2 years. I Was kinda hoping I could keep it for at least 5 and buy a new Dual Sus too and alternate usage keeping the kms down. Bare in mind I ride 3 times weekly. 20 - 30 kms a ride on average. How long would it last on that sort of mileage. The bad, sinful, illogical original idea was to finance over 5 years to bring the monthly installments down to R500 - R650 monthly and pay it off within the first 6 - 12 months with lump sums every 2 or 3 months. I'm not to versed in bank loans to be perfectly honest and was wondering about the financaii implications and judging by what I been told, overall stupidity of it?
  12. I haven't committed myself to anything and am not looking for any endorsement. Not saying I'm going to take the loan. Just looking for advice thats all. Finances are under control. Have a house over our head and at 28 still paying off my first home and our 2 cars. Thats comfortably accounted for as well as food on the table and everything else that goes along with raising my 14 month old daughter. But my wifes clothing accounts and the credit card are next on the hit list which is why I sold my bike and a carbon frame. Just a thought though. Thanks for everyones input. I will not be taking out the personal loan to buy the Sworks. Any one got a better idea on a cheaper but decent hardtail 29er?
  13. It is an actual account. Not investing at all. Just following some old family advice.
  14. No its not. 10% of my monthly income goes into an account. Simple as that. It doesn't ever get touched. I got access to all of it at anytime. Haven't touched it in roughly 4 years and won't. This strictly for end of the world life shattering circumstances.
  15. I was just getting advice and looking at the various options. Thats all. Thanks anyway.
  16. The Recession has hit some companies very hard but not all companies. We have consultants who have worked through the recession and are still making very decent tom. They made it in the toughest time and are still making it now. Not buying the "recession is far from over" crap. We had placments of over R200k for a single placement. You can make it, It just depends on how hard your willing to work to make it happen. But thanks for your oppinion.
  17. I have 10% rainy day account which I put 10% of month income into for the past 5 years or so. But I will never touch that. Its not in our financial planning.
  18. Champion hubber you do come off as a little harsh... I get your viewpoint/oppinnion and respect that. Thank you for it. Respect others as well. My logic might be flawed but thats why I'm here seeking advice. We have people who share our same passions and have made mistakes and like to share their experiences with others. I obviously would not put my family in danger to buy a bike. Just looking at the various ways and means to work this out and try and make it go right.
  19. I have a separate Medical Aid plan for wife and daughter. Which is top of the range. I only took out medical aid for myself after a torn ligament operation set me back R35k which I paid off a few years ago. Since then I have done nothing on the medical aid. Just wasting away. Thinking I just need a emergency hospital plan and some of the usual benefits. I do have a set basic salary but that covers everything comfortably but excludes toys. Haven't told the old lady. Thats why I'm asking for advice. Checking out my options. Would like to cover all bases before jumping into the proverbial deepend.
  20. I sold my bike and a carbon 29er frame to cut down on some debt. I paid off a few accounts and have freed about about R2600 out of our monthly cash flow. I've also got a R1400 Medical aid scheme that I haven't used in 2 years. I was considering downgrading the medical aid keeping most of the key benefits but downgrading and working out paying something around R600 a month. As the Recruitment industry quietens down around Nov / Dec and picks up Jan / Feb. I wanted to pay it off from commission in the first 6 months. I get paid a basic salary and commision ontop of that. Pros and cons on this idea?
  21. Its just very tempting. Rode a S-Works HT 29er and it was amazing. I've ridden quite a few other carbon HT's and nothing came close in my oppinion. Is S-Works HT Not worth the R30k? Wouldn't it, being aTop end Carbon HT keep some semblance of the orginal value later on?
  22. I bank with FNB. I'm a Recruitment Consultant so cash flow fluctuates enormously. So thinking taken it over along period of time and paying it off as soon as possible probably within the first 6 months.
  23. Hey Hubbers, Considering taking the plunge and taking out a loan to fund my next purchase. 2011 Spez S-Works HT - Plus minus - R30K Any words of wisdom or recommendations?
  24. Hi guys, Picked up an Anthem 29er frame for a steal. Its the model with a tapered head, 2011 think. I've called a my lbs and a few others and none of them seem to know what size rearshock to buy? I'm looking at the Fox Float RP2 or RP23 Does anyone know the length eye to eye for a Anthem 29er?
