  1. Vets are tested. I have been tested a number of times in the last couple of years. I am on whereabouts as well as biological passport.
  2. Any reason why I am DNF'd? I should be 4th?
  3. No, the post didn't make anything worse. The reason for no posting is precisely because of these things. People want freadom of speech, but not the responsibility and accountability that comes with it. As they say, the pen is mightier than the sword, but a lot of people do not comprehend the damage they can cause to other people with this.
  4. If you read the thread, you will see that I responded that I had not been asked to take a test. I was invited to ride on Anderson Transport team. People around here clearly do not understand the concept of a "leading question", so I'll give you a wikipedia reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leading_question The topic of this thread is clearly leading readers to a conclusion. Had the question posed as it has now been changed to, this would not have happened. The fact that the original poster has changed it is an admission to this fact. I personally take extreme offence to this. The team that I race for were also concerned. I had to contact Drug Free Sport SA, as missing a test constitutes a positive. Drug Free then contacted CSA (Ciska Austin) which led to her posting on here to clarify. Although I personally don't intend to take it any further, I can understand the anger that the Anderson Transport organisation has regarding this issue and I'm sure they will decide what they intend to do about it. The Hub needs to seriously consider it's lack of moderation. The general consensus amongst the people that I talk to is that the forum has become a complete sewer - precisely because of threads such as this.
  5. Thanks Ciska, I'm sure your posting won't get as many responses as the original
  6. I was not requested to do a urine test when I finished, and I was at the finish line for about 10 minutes - chatting with some people. results have been removed, so I'm busy trying to find out what is going on.
  7. Here is a similiar dissection you might be interested in: http://www.badscience.net/2007/05/the-amazing-qlink-science-pedant/
  8. Logic and reasoning ha! No, no, that battle was won with emotions and irrational thought - unfortunately I have to say that I lost, I just could not compete any more.
  9. Careful Don, you will soon be accused of being emotional and all that ;-) https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/89164-power-balance-band/page__view__findpost__p__1218146
  10. 95% of 20 min max AP is a reasonable estimate. But a lot of people use 20min NP which tends to overestimate. Using 20min AP the FTP range can be 90% to 97%, which is quite wide. Most people tend to use the estimate method that yeilds the biggest number, and there are very few properly calibrated and zero'd power meters in use.
  11. Is that because they think they weigh less than they do' date=' or becasue they think they are stronger than they are ... or both[/quote'] Most people have never done a true 60min TT with a properly calibrated power meter. The results are usually lower than they think. Grand Tour winners are in the region of 6watt/kg at threshold.
  12. Most peoples true watts/kg at threshold is lower than they think.
  13. Don't you just love the irony!! Squatters charging people to use a public road!
