In the Cape and you'll ride once? I think ride near the beginning of your trip and then decide how much riding you want to do. Cape Hubbers: your task, should you choose to accept it, is to give him reason to cancel a few appointments.

I generally consider each interaction with a pedestrian an opportunity to un-*$#% the reputation riders have. Greet them, ride around them, slow down, etc. Some won't greet you back but that's ok - they've probably repeatedly had to deal with some jerk bombing past them. Riding past a pedestrian at speed is just like a super-bike caning it past us.

Maybe school was at the top of the mountains and he had to fetch water at the bottom. The local cafe was on a different mountain, so getting a Coke was a 4600m total ascent.

Wow, over 4 minutes on the other GC riders. Porte certainly delivered on the day it was needed, and Froome finished the job. We still have double-Alpe to look forward to, amongst other thing. Madness. Sprinters have zero break to recover before the last day.

Contador is grimacing a lot. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't lose more time further up the mountain.

I would work with Quintana though, rather than trying to drop him.

Agreed. Froome is going to take time in the TT and very likely some mountain stages as well. It's his to lose, but Contador can also make his own luck pretty well. Whatever happens, it's a wonderful race this year.

Agreed all 'round. The OPQS hasn't quite had the punch. Yesterday Cav had to start his kick far too early (nobody left in front of him) and was basically run down by Kittel.

Tony Martin wins by 12 seconds, Froome bags a serious lead over GC competitors.

Woo. Froome leads by 1 sec at 9.5km. Hard to know if he's gone out too quickly and whether he can keep up with TM's strong finish, but not a bad start.
