  1. Think Rodriguez is sick? He's taking some strain.
  2. Excellent racing! Nice to see a top rider trying something really creative and gutsy.
  3. Zook

    Minnaar!

    That is all.
  4. My next business plan is to make a polar heartrate monitor file generator, and sell it to fat tannies who want to get points while they each chips and watch TV. Bwahahaha.
  5. Top notch Ali & Cyclelab. Should we report future potholes to her? Happy to contribute to repairs.
  6. Who CARES how many times someone has to re-dig up the hole if it saves one person's life? Listen, obviously whatever the government's process is, has failed to prevent an easily preventable death. If my kid/wife/whoever died because some chop like you stopped someone from fixing a pothole, falling off a bike would not be the most newsworthy item of the day, believe me. Edit: I see you later apologised. Accepted.
  7. Man, if there's one thing I hate, it's that sentence. It's an easy way to stop debate by making it all out to be the critical side's state of mind. I've been a Lance fanboy for years, and I'm a critic of how he's handling it. I'm sad for the guys who maybe could have won, but didn't dope. I'm sad for the guys who have doped because that's what you had to do to compete. Get it out in the air, if we have to lose Lance to clear it up, he'll be fine, but the next generation of sportspeople need to have a good reason not to dope. Slaps on the wrist just encourage doping. So: hater or fanboy? Both. Argue the facts, not the person.
  8. It's highly tested because people are still doping. The people trying to clean it up would have nothing to do if nobody was doing it. The only people who can stop this are the participants. If nobody gets caught for five years, the conversation will change. Whenever Armstrong has been challenged, he's gone out super-aggressive and tried to destroy his accusers, so he's become a lightning-rod for the issue and has likely antagonised many on the anti-drug side. I'd love it if he were innocent, but these are not the actions of an innocent man.
  9. I consider the Spruit "safe enough", meaning it's possible something can happen but it's reasonably highly trafficked and a enjoyable ride, especially in Spring. Where are you riding from?
  10. 'Berto's baa-aack.
  11. Ah, ok, but there's a lot of chatter online. Google "uci isada armstrong" and set it to show the last hour.
  12. UCI has asked USADA to submit their findings. I don't know the fat-pat inside story - what's up with the UCI's perspective? It sounds like the rational thing to do. http://velonews.competitor.com/2012/08/news/uci-wants-independent-panel-to-review-usadas-armstrong-case-files-prior-to-sanctions_234070
  13. Us too - top-notch way to get to know each other.
  14. You have to buy bikes for your wife and girlfriend? Eish.
  15. Played, Froome, played.
  16. Seriously, 500 messages and no bike. I dunno how you held out that long, but I'd like to see the smile on your face when you finally get to the trails
  17. Thread with all the stage profiles: http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=18015
  18. If that photo is of your fixed teeth, please never post the "before" picture. That is all.
  19. MacDaddy, any chance you could organise a Pyga? Just glad it's out in the open and sorted out, no more innuendo and false positives. If anyone buys anything second-hand, and hasn't checked every single bit of the history of that item, we're as guilty.
  20. Everyone, chill. The truth will come out at some point, the community is in no danger, and everyone loves a good mystery. The good bike sellers on here will just get stronger because people will want to deal with proven sellers even more in future. The guilty party is very unlikely to be trying to sell his stolen goods on the hub at this point. This is also the best place to trade, because of the amount of information flow around. I don't see bidorbuy talking about this issue today. Edit: I see Lourens has cleared it up. Ah well, back to talking about Armstrong. I'd rather see pics of Pygas.
  21. Naas, can we buy from Bob? Shifty feller, that. Got his hand caught in the cookie jar, ended up taking half his finger off.
  22. The public seems helluva interested!
  23. Less name calling and more WWJD would probably help more, at this point. I have no idea if the dude is a chop or not, but work with what he's given you. He might or might not give the name up, but we can be sure it's not some people, like all those who have clamoured for the name. We know Naas mentioned that one of the people had bought from him, so that person should just iterate the people he's bought from, and we can start crossing them from the list.
  24. That stuff won't help if it's a regular seller, because they'll have sold many things and have been possibly rated highly in good faith. So for all accounts that person looks like a great seller. And now all people who have purchased from them might be "buyers of stolen goods", unless they've somehow managed to check the origin of the goods they bought. If so, the super-honest amongst them might be returning frames and whatnot to the cops to check if they've been pinched. I would imagine Naas is wary of naming names. I'm not a lawyer, but at present the guilty party is innocent until proven guilty, so naming them when they could e.g. still get off on a technicality could drag Naas into it. So Naas, if you do say anything, you can always say "this person is alleged to have done it". Maybe a lawyer has better wording, or advice.
  25. That race was fantastic to watch. A touch sad Burry didn't medal but wow he made that race what it was, and it was awesome to see him mixing it up. All I know is that the pace and effort levels really brought home how killer these guys are. For me, that was the best cycling event of the whole Olympics.
