Interesting: Late entries at registration only with a R20-00 late entry penalty. I suppose you pay then R160 + R20 = R180 and not the odd R15 c/c +admin So for future championchip online entree events it pays to wait for the latest weather forecast and do a late entree if the weather and family duties look fine!

If they want to show what you are being charged for they should mention the (now hidden) extra cost before you get to the payment.But this topic has been covered extensively on this Hub. But I agree R160 plus say R15 is still very reasonable compared with other races, just feel cheated.

Just a pitty that the championchip entering system still charges a c/c surcharge and a admin fee on top of the advertised entree fee. Otherwise I would have entered!

Timing has become a money generating business ONLY for championchip. They have the "take it or leave it" attitude. And event organisers who also use the championchip website to take the entries are absolute powerless because championchip is sitting with all the entree fees , they deduct whatever they want and you have to be satisfied with the amount they are willing to pay to the organisers. Disputing the account only makes you wait longer for your settlement. SO SICK!

If you just want to ride 115km for fun, I suppose it will be fine. But if you want to race for a position, the many, many big speedhumbs and even stopping for a passing train are not so great. Last year they "only toyi toyied" but the Implats hostles are far from peacefull at the moment. After 7 years I skip this one!

I am just back of a very nice Druiwefees race in Nylstroom. Very friendly atmosphere and no complaints about the road conditions. Will be back next year.
