  1. According to the New York Times, two unnamed cyclists that will be participating in this year's Tour de France have cooperated with federal investigators on Floyd Landis's allegations that Lance Armstrong was involved in systematic doping while riding for the United States Postal Service (USPS) team. Landis accused former teammate and seven-time Tour de France winner Armstrong, along with several other cyclists and key figures in the sport, of being involved with or having knowledge of doping practices on his former USPS and Phonak teams. The newspaper says the individuals asked to remain anonymous until the conclusion of this year's Grande Boucle.

  2. Before i go off to my LBS, I was hopping that you guys could assist me with a problem that i have with a strange sound coming from my frame everytime i stand or go over a bump. It's a loud snapping sound, i have checked every where and nothing is broken Smile . I am not sure if it is coming from the saddle, seat stays or seat post.

  3. Don't be...

There is very little integrity left in Cycling.

Takemy team. By wednesday we decided that we would be riidng for a finish team and would finish together.

SO On Saturday I waited for one of our team mates who need to be paced back to the team. The sods didn;t bother easing up to let us catch back up. This was after Tradouws Pass. By Op de Tradouw my teamie was finish and by Montague he was well cooked. So there I was ' date=' pacing myself to the 150km where I bailed. Knee pain and Sabie  X in a under a months time. I decided that riding for the scum ****s was not worth it.

There are many issues with teams at the DC.

    1) Why do the support vehicles not follow the rules? Well this is the one race where every d**s on a bicycle thinks he's in the Tour de France so why not have the same logistics... Read the rules!!

    2) Why doesone team fill the entire left lane, forcing a faster team to ride over the white line? There was not full road closure?? I noticed a few teams taking pride in this behaviour. Really crap mentality.

    3) Why, at feed zones do siad teams have to stand all overthe road preventing other teams from passing htrough quickly and safely.

    4) WTF is with the littering??!!! Gu Sachets, water bottles etc all getting tossed into the bush where they think no one will see?

In all honetsy I don't think PPA has the resources to manage this event effectively. rolling marshalls (on motorbikes) are needed to monitor riders for the entire 205km. Either the sponsors need to cough up a bit more or this event is doomed. A real pity that would be since it is very well organised and an event PPA can be proud of.

Pity that we cyclist can't govern ourselves

  4. I travelled up to <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Durban from Cape Town this weekend to participate in the Amashova. What I thought was going to be a great weekend away turned into an absolute nightmare.

We arrived at the airport an hour and a half before our 18H50 departure to be told ? oh didn?t anyone phone you? Your plane left already. The call centre was supposed contact you and inform you?

After about 30 minutes of banging my head against the proverbial brick wall our only option was the SAA 20H50 flight which we took, as walk was not an option.

Arrived safe and sound in Durbs, or so we thought. The following morning (09h00) went down to unpack the bike bag, took out the cut up pieces of pool noodle and bubble wrap to find that our friendly baggage handlers had managed to snap the right seat stay ( Carbon) clean in two.

Now I had to think quick and act fast if I wanted to ride the next day.

After unsuccessfully going through a few bike shops, Greg and his team at Cyclesphere turned an impossible situation into the best LBS experience of my life, within an hour I had a second hand frame ready to ride, fully fitted with all my goodies from the broken frame and a loaned rear break calliper as the new frame needed a larger calliper. Greg?s words, ?we will sort the calliper out later just go and enjoy your ride?.

Greg to you and your TEAM a huge thank you !!!

By the way SAA?s response at this point, ?as a gesture, as we do not accept liability, we will give you R2000.00?

David Hodo, construction worker: Not Disclosed?(we?ll presume Gay.) Victor Willis, cop: Straight

    Alex Briley, sailor: Gay

    Felipe Rose, Indian: Gay
