  1. Why would you ever get out of bed???
  2. Anyone else having trouble with credit card payments on the site?
  3. I have the carbon Vipa and I love the bike. Before that I came off a Titan hardtail (more of an entry level one at around 10k) I would definitely not spend 25k on a hardtail as you will definitely be looking upgrade to a duel sus in the near future. Titan bikes are great value for money but at that price point I would not consider one. I still believe a cheaper entry level bike might serve you well. Don't get me wrong, mountain biking is a great fun, but its sometimes not as easy as it looks (which is why there are so many clothing hangers) . There's always a hill to climb before the real fun can begin and once you doing the fun part, you are definitely going to fall a good couple of times. This is when you wish you had that "cheap" bike to learn new skills and push some boundaries. But hey, if you have money to burn then I believe the giant anthem is also a good option.
  4. My bad, that is correct. My mind is playing tricks with me... two fingers one lever.
  5. That double shift is a really nice feature that works well. The XT also has two levers (three in total) for down shifting. i.e. One situated at your index finger and one situated at your thumb. When using the thumb shifter, you are able to keep the rest of your fingers on the brake lever which comes in handy in certain situations. Not sure if the SLX has this but just my 2c worth.
  6. I've never been a fan of the bicycle shops in PE. I just don't enjoy the employees (and owner's) attitudes towards the weekend warrior. I have however recently purchased a bike from CycloPro and can definitely say the service was great. Now to actually get to your question.... The time and attention to detail during my setup by Andrew @ Cyclopro was most commendable! He also ended up assisting me beyond the shops closing time. As a side note, I normally take my bike to Triangle Sports for all services. Great, welcoming atmosphere. The mechanic there is top notch... best of all, he is open to taking you into his workshop and showing you how your components work, what sort of wear and tear damage you need to keep an eye on, etc. They specialise in Road & TT bike setups but am pretty sure they could adapt the principals for MTB (some of the employees also ride MTB). So definitely worth a try in my opinion.
  7. I have the rider 40 and it works well for me. The one gripe that I do have is bryton's website functionality. They have updated it a few months ago but I still feel that more improvement is needed.
  8. Geax have changed their name to Vittoria just in case anyone didn't know:)
  9. Might not be of much help since you not a fan of the crossmarks, but what I can say about them is that I have found them to be super strong. Have had mine for quite some time now and have a lot of wear showing on the sidewalls (from hitting rocks etc) but still no sidewall cuts or punctures.
  10. Hi Guys I lost my Tubby bag containing my cellphone and spare tubes in the baakens valley. I was riding on the south end side (Guinea fowl trail). Give me a shout if you've seen it even if it doesnt contain the phone anymore. Thanks
