  1. oh oops... sorry, "Vinny" hehe...
  2. Hehe... you know what you've gotta do now... you've gotta go "puddle hunting"... try to get it as dirty and muddy as possible LOL!!! then spend a whole day bonding with it while you clean it... oh and name it already! hehe... really nice ride. much respect!!!
  3. i nearly spat my coffee out of my mouth when i saw that scary, sad, traumatic image. oh my GOD! i feel like crying!!!!!! R.I.P fellow cylist dude. ... that driver needs to be put down...
  4. we've started something here...
  5. err... that was... once. and it still tasted fine... (jokes)
  6. ...unless it's two week-old manky energade...
  7. ok i got one: how about carrying bumper stickers with really arb things on them that we can just "paste" onto offending drivers? hmm, like "Steer clear ,I've got Herpes" or "I'm a loser" or "I hate this country - throw something at me" LOL!
  8. holy crap! the possibilities are endless!!!
  9. i hear you w. warrior, but we cannot "be scared" of these guys - we need to show them that although we're on a much smaller machine, we still have as much right to be in the road as they do... they need to understand that. Maybe that driver will be more careful from now on? im sure he doesnt wanna get another loogie on his window?
  10. ...got one lol... it's actually mounted to my bike!
  11. we need to carry eggs or something... launch them at rude drivers lol.
  12. Ok, here's something interesting... I was on my way to Tokai yesterday and there was a cyclist in front of me cruising along. We stopped at the traffic lights in front of the Blueroute shopping mall and a Black car (think it was a Hyundai Getz) nearly took this guys arm off as the driver was slowing down for the red light. I honestly though this guy was gonna get hit by the car but he managed to duck out of the way... then the fun started. He gave the driver a *SERIOUSLY* evil look as he pulled away, and then hucked up a big, green, evil alien phloem-ball thing (eew) and launched it onto the car's windscreen! I nearly fell of my bike from laughter... Ya, it's gross, but what other "weapons" do we have?? LOL!!! Oliver2008-06-02 01:26:09
  13. err... umm... also need to mention that the BB i had with the SR SUNTOUR crank was apparently too short for the Alivio as it requires a 110mm BB... I checked this and the original BB seemed to be 110mm??? LOL? so i left it the wat it was and the chaincheel appears to fit exactly the same as the suntour one. even the dimensions are the same??
  14. i also need to mention that after getting it as good as i could, my chain snapped yesterday??? wtf. lol.
  15. basically, i installed it and it had this epic little sticker that tells you how high it must be, did that, attached the cable and set the screws.
  16. ye i know... that's the strange thing. i sat with it for like 3 hours on sat night and basically have the same problem as you... scrapes on the smallest ring and the largest... annoying!
  17. Greetings! Bought an Alivio Chainwheel & new BB & a Deore Front Derailleur. Guy at the bike shop said it would work and it does... but barely. There's allot of scraping... Any ideas? Was he smoking his socks or will it work? GOt an 8-Speed SB Alpine.
  18. the scary thing is there was a cop car about 4 cars in front of me when this happened and the perp didn't give a damn!
  19. it's sad when people are driven to these extremes but there's a strong sense of helplessness in this country when it comes to these things - the purps are getting wiser, the cops are getting more under-resourced.
  20. and hope the cops never read this thread
  21. ...or go crayfishing
  22. Well, it may be allot of effort but remember: the law in this country sometimes works against the victim and we've all heard the stories about innocent people using their firearms to protect themselves and their families and getting into more trouble than the perps... so for our own sakes...
  23. LMFAO!!! Noice...
  24. I've been doing some research into bike-mounted self defence items, like frame-mounted mace spray, frame-mounted "pull alarms" (with the pull-cords?) Imagine this: you're cycling and spot a possible attacker so you reach for easily-accessible cord on the alarm and pull it - sounding the signal, then you remove the mace cannister from the frame-mounted bracket and spray the crap outta the "offender" i.e. f@#ktard. Huh? Also, those little extended telescopic things? how about a bike-mounted telescopic place putter? I wouldn't wanna be on the receiving end of one of those, especially if it were an angry dude on a bike, screaming towards me at like 25k's an hour?
