  1. Looks like they used it as the wheel stop for the plane. Sorry...
  2. Your like a bunch of b!tchy little girls when it comes to Lance. If he'd ridden off the front and left everyone for dead, the Hub would be ablaze with "How can they let a demon race against our pro's in our race, its not fair" The big picture, Lance did OUR biggest race, and he seems to only have pleasant things to say about SA. I sure hope he didnt check out the Hub, coz its just shamefull.
  3. Wrong. Cars may have the power' date=' speed, weight and capacity to mow down cyclists but actually they are at the end of the chain. First come pedestrians, then horses (and riders), then bicycles. Cars and other motorised vehicles come last. (Maybe we should go back to the days of having a person walking ahead of cars with red flags to ensure that they don't hurt the first users of roads and tracks. Most civilised countries, and civilised peoples, respect the weaker users of the road (who also happen to be largely taxpayers). Car users without respect? Well, they don't deserve respect.[/quote'] Bravo... Could not have said it better myself. Anyone remember their learners test? Who gets right of way? Like Mushi said, cars sure aint the top of that list. But I do agree we cyclists need to ditch our 'we are entitled to the road' attitude.
  4. Ok...leave the doping issue alone, Lance has never tested +...neither has Contador. Lets just leave it there
  5. ...I see where this is gonna go.
  6. You know what the coolest thing is? The fact that this weekend is as HUGE as it is. Its the Cape Argus, ridden by Lance Armstrong...and the whole country knows it. Thats immense in my books... Everyone (cyclist or not) knows Lance is in the country riding OUR race. Thats HUGE exposure. ChrisH, I agree...given the chance everyone wants to race Armstrong!
  7. Agreed. The hour record is the ultimate test! No 8 man draft train like the postal express to help out on this one!! Agreed. The "Hour" reveals all...no one can hide on a flat oval track. Conditions are the same for everyone...its proving ground for greatness in my opinion.
  8. Its our very own holy pilgrimage... A lot like driving a Ferrari around the Modena test track
  9. I like people who are flawed. Oh wait...thats all of us to some degree or another. I understand the reasoning behind the whole issue, yes its crazy that 1 person can attract so much attention. But at the end of the day, he's earned it. You have to love his dedication to the sport and in particular the Tour. I know you've all read the book, and know what he means when he uses cycling as a metaphor for life...he's lived it his way and is well deserving of the benefits that come with it. No other cyclist in the world has raised the sport to the international platform that it now enjoys. And that benefits us all in my opinion. (Something dawned on me earlier today...I spent almost every day of December riding with Darryl Impey for free. He'd even greet me, chat to me about crap, and we'd sprint each other for the top of the hills. All for free! But Darryl gets paid by Lance to ride with him...there's a bit of justice in there somewhere I think!!)
