I started building a road bike some time back with the idea of focusing on both triathlon, but I’ll also probably end up doing a fair amount of road races that won’t allow tri bars. I’m torn between the Swift Drone or the Merida Reacto. If I wasn’t sitting with brand new components I would’ve gone with the Reacto, but now it’s a choice between selling off my components and buying a Reacto or purchasing the Swift Drone frame. My concern is that the Swift Drone seems to have a shorter top tube (even the large seems small) which would be fine for triathlon, but as I’ll be riding with traditional road bars with clip-on tri bars for now it could be slightly too small. I’m 1.88m tall which has always put me in between sizes. I had a frame with a 57.5 top tube that was almost too big, but the largest Drone is 555. Do you think that the Drone would be comfortable enough to do something like the Double Century on or would the Reacto be a better fit for both road and triathlon? In a perfect world I would have both, but that’s not an option at present ????

A couple of months back I bought a frame. Stupidly I didn’t check all of the measurements and whilst having a bike fit I realized that the steerer tube was too short. The next day I called CWC and spoke to Wouter who was extremely understanding and asked me to bring the bike in. As it’s a very old frame they didn’t have stock. I arrived with the bike fully assembled as I thought they might have another fork in stock. Unfortunately it was an old frame which meant they weren’t able to get a replacement. Wouter spoke to Chris Senior and they offered to give me a full refund and to top it off they offered to strip the bike at no extra cost (I didn’t buy the components through CWC). Wouter organised that they would do an EFT and the money was in my account the following day. This could’ve ended up being an expensive mistake on my behalf. A big shout out to Wouter and the CWC team for their brilliant service.

I had mine removed last week after only 12 weeks as the screws were coming loose ???? This meant that I wasn’t allowed to lift anything heavier than a coffee cup for 12 weeks. No discomfort after the op, in fact I could feel a massive improvement in mobility. I did notice a bit of clicking before having the plate removed, but it’s too soon to tell if it’ll be an ongoing problem. Perhaps keeping the hardware in my on-bike tool kit might be an option. You never know when you or a mate might need it????
