  1. I have a entry to the 2-day Berg and Bush on the 3rd and 4th November. All the guys I usually ride with can't make it so looking for a new partner. I'm a master, competitive, and live in the Magaliesberg/Rustenburg area on a farm (with my own 7 km XS track). I ride a hardtail 29'er. Any master (or similar) out there interested?
  2. Ok, my mail address : elroyparr@gmail.com. Dam a bit low now, probably around 60m, very dry time of the year but will fill up after first rains, XS track perfect though. I'll see what response I get.
  3. I have an 80m long dam, water you can drink, comes straight out of the mountain one farm up, and a 7km long XS track on my farm which is in the Boons area half way between Magaliesberg and Rustenburg. I've been thinking to open it up for Xterra training, it's perfect for running too. The XS track has a 1.8km climb rising 250m, has 5 bridges and is kept in perfect condition, I ride every morning before work. A very safe area, we also have 100's of km's of gravel roads around, nothing flat. Anyone interested? Dam also full of bass.
  4. I went some years ago to Linden Cycles to try them out, had my bike serviced once and was totally unsatisfied, never went back again. Try Mike's Bikes up the road in Greenside. Mike's a bit wierd but the servicing is impeccable and the finishing touches with the little cable guides they put on are great.
  5. From what I can see it costs more and also weighs about a kilo more!
  6. Did MTN Clarens on my Storm1 this weekend, I'm really getting used to it now and it flies! Those 29 wheels chew up the k's, bit of a struggle with the gearing on big uphills as I'm so used to 3 chainrings in front but just another thing to conquer. I'd recommend this bike to anyone but go and buy it at CycleZone in Rustenburg, they will beat every other price I've seen here substantially. Great shop with a huge selection.
  7. I bought one about 3 weeks ago, been waiting for it for ages. I've been riding a full sus for many years so it was a real shock to the system to get back on a hardtail. On only the 2nd ride I did the the Honda adventure 40k raceat Maropeng and really did well, better than I expected. I found the bike really easy to get used to, even though it's the first 29er I've rode.Very quick and super stable on the downhills and flies over the rocky stuff though on the flats and grass it was uncomfortable, although I may have forgotten how to ride a hardtail. Great fork but I think it may be set at 80mm, not 100mm. Need to check that at the shop. Love the saddle, realised I'd been suffering for years on my previous Specialised Phenom.Overall pretty pleased, going to try it this weekend at Clarens in the MTN national. As to previous posts about the quality of Silverback this is my 2nd and never had a problem. .
