  1. I was out riding today and just thought i need to give this tubeless thing a go out of interest with some rim tape and a valve on my Fulcrum racing S's. If it works fantastic if not so be it. From the okes in the know is the tyre choice as essential as it is with the mnt bike tubeless story?

  3. I saw these about a week ago and vented every sentiment expressed here to my wife, what a joke. Thank goodness unlike the tax I'm forced to pay I do not have to fork out for these. Is there any end to the piss pulling we have to endure!?
  4. Agreed if you got up late and are going to miss your start group, sorry for that don't be a knob head life goes on and there is next year. But lets be honest with each other nothing we say will change the mindset of some people.
  5. You guys don't get it. Once one of "the manufacturers" go this route it'll be touted as the be all and end all, cutting, leading and on the edge technologies that you can have NOW for the low low price of an arm, a leg and a kidney. 100% guaranteed to make no bloody difference to your enjoyment at all. But then maybe i'm just skeptical.
  6. If 80% of these types of mag's are filled with paid for advertising space, then how can a purchase price be justified? Mens health, GQ, FHM etc all the same. Added to this most of the content is regurgitated between publications.
  7. Had the fork serviced and asked them to check the chain. told me it's just on the 0.75 and due a change, done another 500 or so kms. My fault should have paid better attention but really has not given me a minutes trouble since new, just recently started feeling sloppy. Thanks for the info. Tell me how many times can you re-use the same connection point in the chain with the pin's? Or just go to a power link/sigma connection type chain?
  8. It's just a fad till the next best thing hang in there it'll get cheaper!
  9. I must have gone way beyond 0.75 then? If you ride the chain to the 0.75 limit then replace can the life of the cassette and chain rings be extended or will I face this issue again? Alternately can the chain be changed regularly (1000km intervals) and thus significantly extend the service life of both the cassette and chain rings and offset the cost of the additional chains?
  10. Hi Folks, I know prob been asked in the past numerous times, so apologies in advance. I replaced the cassette and chain on my XT M785 2x10(achieved the wear limit on the chain). Now with new chain and cassette the chain is jumping the big chain ring with some power applied and a cyclic(crank rotation not chain) grating noise on the small chain ring. Guessing it's time to replace both chain rings? Can the small chain ring just be turned around to use the other side of the teeth as does no pick-up or drop-off functioning of the chain? Rgds, Timasin.
  11. Folks it's my first Fast One what are the logistics like with getting to the venue and parking etc, get there 10-15min prior to start or a 94.7 type issue?
  12. Definitely a factor at times but i've found that the patch deteriorates and leaks out from the side of it. I guess i need to re-look at the patching of tubes and try different patch brands and glue to find something that works. Do you guys use the little patches and place on an un-inflated tube then put back in the tire with a little baby powder?
  13. No not at all the good old fashion way. A good clean, sand the area around the hole, apply contact adhesive to both the tube and patch and allow to dry to the touch, place two together and apply pressure, replace on wheel, head out for a ride and inevitability psssst and WTF!?
