Hi Cyclists

 

This is Barefoot who originally posted this thread and selling my 2015 Epic Form

 

As a first timer one pays R3500 to be a volunteer on the Cape Epic.

I am not an active cyclist but a very active Ultra distant runner and support numerous Ultra events.

For those who did this year's Epic I worked at Waterpoint Number 1 and 3. I am sure many of the "slower half of the field" will remember me by my name "Barefoot"

Working as a volunteer is very demanding and hard work to get up at 4am every morning and sometimes still working until 22:00 hours - 8 days in a row.

 

The "supply and demand" for Epic entries is there, hence that is why I am selling mine

Hi There,

 

The entry form was sent by the organisors and is guarenteed - (Part of the conditions of being a previous water volunteer.

 

If one evaluates the entry procedure, there are only 600 entries. A rough breakdown of these entries are 150 Early Bird entries and were sold out in March 2104, 200 entries are for "Elite and previous riders" , 100 are for Charites and other riders, 150 are Lotto entries that are drawn in September 2014 and 50 are given to previous volunteers. (As is my case) - In 2013, I understand that there were over 2000 applicants for the 150 Lotto entries. Hence is you want an entry and fall into the Lotto system your chances are less than 15% - By buying my entry this is guarenteed immediately.

HI Cyclists,

 

I have a valid entry form for the 2015 ABSA Cape Epic that I am wishing to sell to a team.

 

As one of the Water Point Volunteers during the 2014 Epic, I am given a 2015 Epic form that I may use myself or transfer to someone else. I paid to be a volunteer and am wishing to recover my cost.

 

With the high demand for Epic entries, this is a guarenteed way of ensuring that one is entered and can train accordingly. (No Lotto or Early bird system to enter)

 

I have currently been offered R4,000 for this entry form.

 

Any better offers will be considered.

Hi Riders,

I am selling a guarenteed 2013 Epic Form selling for R3000.00 (All entry, registration and other costs to be paid by the Riders.)

 

(In the recent 2012 Epic, I paid to be a Volunteer for the Epic and assisted with the various water stations.

As part of this payment, one is guarenteed an entry form for the following year's race. I will not be riding and am wishing to sell this 2 man guarenteed entry form for R 3000.00 , excluding the entry, registration and other costs.)

The limited Wild Entries have already closed and only the Lottery Entries are avaiable until 30 May 2012, however they were very over-subscribed in 2011 so chances of getting a lottery enrty is slim (+- 1 in7))

 

(It may seem that I want to make money, however all I wish to is to recover some of the costs I paid as a volunteer for the 2012 Epic)
