  1. But the prices are so guuuudddd!!
  2. Possible scam alert. Not sure if you guys can confirm this but this guy called James advertised a Go Pro Hero 4 Black on OLX (http://oudtshoorn.olx.co.za/gopro-hero-4-black-full-hd-action-video-camera-iid-790931227) in Oudtshoorn. I was interested as I come from there and was going there this weekend and could pick up this sweet deal. When I phoned a dodgy guys answered who does not speak english very well and he told me that they are based in Bloemfontein. But he will sms me the website where i can order it. I went on the website (www.digitalmultimediastores.com) and it looked dodge. I also tried to buy something and checked out then the amounts were different and jumped around. Not sure if you guys have bought from here. Also the picture in the ad did not work for me.
  3. Have you tried turning it on? I know you can save the person's details on an txt file that is displayed every time a person turns the GPS on.
  4. That moment when you play with your new Garmin Edge at the start and set the max heart as a percentage and its too low and the thing beeps the whole 50km race when your heart goes above 140.
  5. This is very very sad and unnecessary. I must say we have training rides from Paarden Eiland to otherside of Blouberg twice a week in the mornings. Those trucks do speed excessively on that stretch of road especially coming down that bridge by lagoon beach hotel right up to Woodbridge island. They have put up a speeding camera by Paddocks but not sure if it will solve the problem.
  6. I have a Thule Euroway G-3. I can get 2 bikes on no problem. Last year for Knysna i managed to fit on 3 but you have to remove the seats. Also lean the bikes forward and backwards slightly. We made these polystyrene vibe fittings that fit on the forks to ensure they don't scratch. I think the box reads 2 bikes, but they are probable referring to 2 roadbikes.
  7. This oak found one: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/142173-anyone-missing-a-giant-xtc-carbon-mtb/
  8. 2 of us rode this yesterday. Not that impressed. Loads of Single track, with even more climbing. Very washed away in certain sections, especially towards the Nature reserve side. If I am gonna mission from Cape Town I would rather ride Jonkershoek.
  9. I bought a similair bike but asked the LBS to do the tubeless conversion for me. The front wheel also kept deflating even after a couple of rides etc... Then took it back to the LBS and they in turn told me that the tire's (Schwalbe racing ralph) sidewall is defective. I must say the 27.5 is a hard tire to find a size for in my preferred tires (Continental Race KIng's), so I had to take the Schwalbe's. Not impressed with the tire. So maybe check the sidewall if the kit does not work.
  10. Hi. I have quite a few files for you depends where you want to ride in Jonkers. Perhaps the best would be to add me on Garmin Connect?
  11. Overall I think it was well organised as always. The only thing I did not like was the KM markers every km. Nothing like knowing you still have 95kms to go. There was also a slight problem with kids running across the road just after Smits. They were playing some game and the guy in front of me almost clipped a little girl. 80% of the problems with the Argus are the people and not the organisers. People are idiots and they cause accidents which I realised on Sunday especially with this wind.
  12. http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-camping-gear-in-gardens/quality-value-2-man-tents-539714424 At R300 each. Not too bad. She has quite a few left (200+) You can also phone her on 072 220 6217
  13. I spoke to one of my cycling mates who read the post and ran the number plate. Apparently the owner of this car has got a sheet of criminal offences thats longer than my bicyle pump. How they still roam the streets I dont know. The justice system is failing is failing us gentlemen......
  14. On Sunday the 4th of August 2013 a bike was stolen off the back of our car right outside the SPAR there by Idas Valley in Stellenbosch at around 12:00 whilst the place was packed. When I asked the car guard who said "ek sal mooi kyk my lanie" before we went in he claimed that is not his section and another car guard is responsible for that area - 20 m from where he was standing - JOKE. Anyway , luckily a family saw what happened and chased the guy down and get the bike back. Some other guy approached me and said that a Red Bakkie dropped the thief off and then said "where must I pick you up". I then took a drive down Banghoek street from the spar to see if I can see something. I found them sitting by BP in Merriman there on the PnP centre side. When I drove towards the bakkie the guy who was standing next to the car saw me approaching and then started ducking behind the vehicle to hide away. When I stopped behind the Bakkie and wanted to get out he ran towards the PnP centre which looked like Durban on New Years day. I then took my phone out and snapped some pics whilst the driver swore at me and what not. So be on the lookout for an old red Ford bakkie similair to the old Mazda Drifter with a car Reg CL36593. When i went to the police station to tell them that the bakkie is parked there by the PnP centre and if they can send a Van with me so I can show them. They told me that our Tax money is all currently occupied in Kyamandi and when the vans come back they have to be washed first before they can go out again. I mean how can you get angry at that?
  15. Today they cut the straps off our thule bike rack and stole a woman's specific specialized carbon fibre while we were at the spar there by Idas Valley after our ride at about 12pm whilst place was busy. Obviously the car guard saw nothing. Luckily a family saw the oak and chased him down. Got the bike back. Apparently a red bakkie dropped him off and then picks him up further down. I took a drive down towards the BP and FOUND the red bakkie by BP in Merriman. When we approached, the guy in the back seat saw us and then hid behind the car trying to hide from us realising its us looking for him. When I got out he ran to the PnP centre across the road. I took a pic of the bakkie and the guy got upset. Car Reg CL36593 and it was a red old Ford bakkie like the Mazda drifter. When I went to the police station to get a police car so I could show them our tax paying money was all in Kyamandi.I will post a proper pic and post tomorrow. But if you see an old red bakkie be aware.
