  1. Hmmm, Google Earth mapped it at a total of 1364m. No idea what could have made the difference. Maybe next year we'll add 300m of climbing just in case?
  2. CapeLandy, BrandonF - there are 2 areas on the 70km where there is no reception/signal and we had marshal's with satellite phones as back-ups. You might have lost some data in those areas.
  3. SupreDS, thanks for helping! It makes a big difference on how that laaitie perceives MTB. Please PM me your details to get in touch. You deserve some wine!
  4. What a weekend! I can tell you, our team is exhausted! Thanks to everyone who made this event such a lekker place to be this weekend. The attitude of everyone on the routes and the happy faces at the finish line made it all worth it.We really enjoy the vibe that you guys bring to our town, loved it! Please also use this forum to send me suggestions for next year. It's our first event at the new venue with new routes, so there is bound to be improvements to be made.
  5. The weather is looking great and and the our guys worked till late out on the routes to make sure this ride is as much fun as possible. We've built bridges over water crossings and rerouted smaller sections where necessary but all in all, the route is looking great! We are very proud of our guys who built 4 brand new routes in 4 months and managed to overcome this weeks crazy weather. Please make sure to stay for a glass of wine afterwards! Safe riding tomorrow....see you out there!
  6. Hi Johnny, everyone that completes the race have a choice between a medal, bottle of wine or a bottle of grape juice.
  7. Paarlmtb - Check out the propose routes attached to the event page. They have the profiles at the bottom.
  8. Hi Karen. We've built new showers on our premises with gas geysers.....hot water for everyone!
  9. Weather forecast says the rain will clear by Wednesday evening. Sunshine from Thursday until Monday. The route dries out quite quickly and should be cleared by Saturday.
  10. Masterj, these are our proposed routes but they might/will change to suit the conditions. That being said, I think you should organize a braai in your yard to cheer everyone on!
  11. Hi Louis. We"ll have a cool "refueling point" on the 50 and 70km routes to help the riders charge up again. According to regulations we need to have water available every 10km's to assist riders if needed, these are just water access points rather than refreshment points to help prevent dehydration. We've gone for the large refueling point on the longer distances as these guys will need it the most.
  12. Hi Guys. I've uploaded a sneak preview of the 4 brand new routes for the Robertson Winery Wacky Wine MTB. We're very excited to offer these route for the first time this year! Don't forget our new Venue in Voortrekker Street with loads of entertainment and food stalls to enjoy after the event. We've ample parking on the premises and even a clinic on site for those that made contact with our Valley's wonderful vine growing soil!
  13. BOOK NOW for your SPORTS MASSAGE after the event! We have 20min slots at R60 per slot payable on the day. All bookingsmust be made with Annelize on 082 375 8033.
