  1. Would this track really be that easy? Omega man said: "This is the perfect opportunity for the XC guys" I ride downhill on 2 inch front/back XC bike, would It even be possible to ride down there, because judging from the below clip, it looks pretty hectic:

    Winter Days

First past seems like Signal Hill, second part is Table Mountain, not sure about third
  3. eh my parents aren't gonna buy me a new bike so the topic is kinda closed
  4. http://www.anthillfilms.com/strengthinnumbers/buy/
  5. With that said i just went riding and had an amazing time, the bmx will just have to wait a year
  6. Something I think you guys don't understand is that budget is my main problem, I can't just be like "oh thats a couple thousand good stuff". My budget is really tight. I think my dad sees a BMX kinda as a toy, and doesn't want to spend a lot on it. And like I said DJ bikes are way more expensive than bmx That couldn't be more true, but I've been doing them for 9 months, nearly every day, often more than twice. And in total probably 200m Its always funny some how mtb'ers on table mountain don't ever make way for me when i'm riding on singletracks at like 50km/h. I prefectly understand on the jeeptrack where its hard to get your uphill momentum going again, but then some guys are going at the flat sections like 3km/h and I'm just flying through there and yet they still want me to stop for them? The other day i was riding and this guy could see me coming from a mile away yet he just went riding on and I nearly crashed into him and some rocks on the side of the track. And btw its not just that one guy, lots of guys do it, though i do encounter the ocasional good soul. Or is there something i'm not noticing/realising? ^^ Edit: I'd just like to add that i was falling myself into flenters for the first 2 of those 9 months, some of that downhill is not easy
  7. I would do that, but see the problem is that those bikes are even more expensive than a bmx! Long story short I love pretty much every form of riding except for XC, which for me is more like a form exercise instead of being a hobbie, especially in Cape Town where there are no trails and the actual ridable places are like 85°. You know, if I wanted to exercise I'd rather just go jogging. Honestly I'd rather be a roadie than do XC on Table Mountain.
  8. eh sorry for wasting your time my parents arent gonna buy me a bmx because they want me to get into XC, which i despise. Better than having no bike at all I guess
  9. Actually i'd be more happy getting a job and earning the money myself instead of my parents just buying me one
  10. Yeah its pretty sad, the total costs of my current mtb being repaired for the last 3 months have probably been around R4000, its been at the shop more than at my house. And yeah screw child labour laws and permits and stuff, i wouldnt mind working 10 hours a day for R20 payment, i just want a new bike
  11. Yeah i'm kinda starting to lose patience. 90% of the second hand bikes look like they have been through WW2 or their owners are either reluctant/hesitant(?) on selling them and don't mail or call me back. First hand is pretty much out of the equation. The only bikes seem to be the ones on TheRiot and that's just mongoose bikes nuff' said. The only bike I have actually seen with my own eyes was a Blank Ammo going for R4000 which is way to much. I've tried to getting a job at various places but in Cape Town thats pretty much impossible for a 15 year old
  12. Yeah, i would be really happy to help with any building or maintenance etc. I would love any exposure to the whole DJ scene really. I'l remember to pack it in next time (no pun intended)
  13. Was so epic! I think strombergs held back to save his energy, spending just enough to get into the final, where the other guys seemed as if they were gunning it the whole day, so then he had the most energy and he won the final. Thats just my 2c what do you guys think? Update on my new bmx: Me and my dad went cruzing through cape town and went looking for a first hand bmx and all we could find was a Blank for R4000. I think we'll stick to secondhand...
  14. Was so epic my family even got into it, and they normally hate anything bike related thats not XC. It's a shame Sifiso did so crappy. Definitely gonna help the case for my new bmx
