  1. Can I also make a suggestion is that I often see trial runners and dog walkers going up into that section, maybe go at the busy times and go through together if you are on your own, strength in numbers.
  2. OK one place to stop cycling, between the road and being knocked off and the mountain and muggings. I think the Silvermine / Tokai side seem to be the safest bet for bikers - and there seems to be much more safety awareness and rangers. There was a group of people making progress on the Table Mountain side (hikers I think), it is such a shame that the "Natural Wonder" can not be enjoyed because of criminal elements but such as life. To be honest unruly dog owners have been a big deterrent to cycling that way anyway - much prefer the friendly baboons.
  3. Yes it was the authorities fault for not providing a police escort with "wide load ahead"
  4. Is this the track where the vagrants live?
  5. I'm in Kenilworth ring my bell on the way past
  6. It seems to me that an earlier time suites most people so 9am it is?
  7. We would really appreciate your input gwhite so lets make it a 9am start? I'm easy. I was thinking upto level 5 (whichever way we get there) and some singletrack practice.
  8. We were thinking about 11am start so the single track maybe a bit quieter.
  9. I must say I have found people to be fairly helpful at Tokai, I have chatted to quite a few people in the parking area before and after rides and were very helpful when my car got stuck and needed pulling out of a hole. When I was new to Tokai I hooked up with some very helpful people and they showed me around. I did speak to a guy last week who told me how much Tokai had changed and how popular it had become. I have found the mountain biking community in general around Cape Town very friendly (I must say the Northern Suburbs hubbers more so than the southern suburbs) The attire I think is more for practical reasons as well. I would not make generalisations and wouldnt judge a book by its cover.
  10. I am very keen to do this, just let me know time and place.
