Hi Rock n Rolla I am involved in the organizing of an event and we have a few different ideas on how best to market it. I agree in that if you have been and its great, you will keep going back. I believe most people attend races that they have heard about from mates or have great prestige, so my theory is to make the event as awesome as possible for those who do attend and improve each year. I feel that flyers and adverts are unnecessary and that why I am trying to get a better idea. The proceeds from the event go to a charitable cause so we dont want to spend money unnecessarily. What an awesome day....perfect weather, brilliant route and great feedback on the event. Thanks to all of those who came to support us. Results should be up on the website today and I will start updating and posting pictures shortly. We also had a Supersport camera there, so will give you a heads up as to when the insert will air.....hope you where all smiling out there on the course!!

There will be line entries on Saturday but they will be R180 instead of R150, so if you can, get your entry in today!

The Pops actual concert only starts at 7pm just the gates open at 3, and we had worked the route around where the Pops was going to be but it still wasnt any good, they just arent happy having 2 events in the park on the same day. Especially with the size of the Pops, they will have vehicles coming in all day,with vendors and performers etc. Its so disappointing. Hopefully you will still ride is solo next year!

I am looking for a commentator/MC for a bike race to be held in Joburg on 27 October. Does anyone do that kind of thing or can anyone recommend someone who they know/have heard at a recent event.
