  1. Seems cyclist aren't the only one's. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/06/health/nutrition/06fitness.html Here's priceless snippet... a ipod! Police officers responded to an incident in April in Morris Plains, N.J., that began when a driver entered a crosswalk and blocked a jogger?s path. The runner retaliated, slamming his fist on the hood of the car, which prompted the driver to try to pin the runner against a parked car. The runner then reportedly struck the driver with his iPod ? at which point the motorist reached into the back seat and pulled out a golf club. Cornelis2008-11-06 03:28:47
  2. Any sneaky tricks to put new XTR cranks onto your bike? instead of trying to figure it out and redoing it sixteen times. any special grease/ lube etc etc......
  3. anybody have experience with the Easton Havoc wheelset? vs the XC one disc???
  4. Riaan vs. Chuck http://blogspace.mweb.co.za/Portals/_2plus3/images/default/CruywagenR.jpg For our non-South African readers, I don?t expect you to understand any of this. Suffice to say that Riaan Cruywagen is somewhat of an Afrikaans Regis or Terry Wogan, if you must. Except he rocks. A bit. Power, Riaan. Power. Riaan Cruywagen is fluent in twenty seven of South Africa?s eleven official languages. Riaan Cruywagen knows the news before it happens. Riaan Cruywagen is cryogenically frozen every night for exactly eight hours. His brain impulses are monitored during this and used as templates for deciphering elaborate ancient manuscripts. Riaan Cruywagen knew you would say that. Riaan Cruywagen had a telekinetic showdown with Johan Stemmet. After draining all of Stemmet?s powers and rendering him severely retarded, he created Noot vir Noot and made Stemmet the host. Some people believe Riaan Cruywagen wears a toupee - he has, in fact, one perfect hair. The one that covers his entire head - giving it that, ?not quite real? look. Riaan himself is not quite real. Riaan Cruywagen was the original model for Michelangelo?s statue of David. Unfortunately, that was in the early years of Michelangelo?s career and he wasn?t yet artistically mature enough to capture the Cruywagen essence. He nearly drove himself mad with frustration until eventually he decided to settle for his number 2 choice of model in Chuck Norris who was only 3 years old when he posed for Michelangelo. One night during an ad break on the 8 o?clock news, Riaan Cruywagen mentioned to the makeup lady that he was ?tired of this apartheid nonsense?. Nelson Mandela was released from prison the next day. Riaan Cruywagen wasn?t born, he thought himself into existence. The only man made object visible (with the unaided eye) from space is the Great Wall of China. Riaan Cruywagen can see the Muir Space station with his ?unaided eye?. Riaan Cruywagen never blinks; if he does the entire world would just not happen for that split second. When Sir Edmund Hillary reached the summit of Mount Everest, he was welcomed by Riaan Cruywagen, who briefly interviewed him, before wiring the information through to the SAUK. The SAUK is actually a front for a secret society of Swiss Bankers who manipulate the world?s economy, and is chaired by non other than his most Worshipful Master, Riaan Cruywagen. In binary code the word ?Riaan Cruywagen? looks like the shroud of Turin. When he was three Riaan Cruywagen successfully reinvented the wheel. For his second birthday party he entertained guests by coming up with the first highly successful prototype. Riaan Cruywagen will never die. His soul gets transferred to another identical body via various arcane rituals and current nano-technology thrice fortnightly. Bruce Willis? character in Die Hard is based on the unpublished autobiography written by Riaan Cruywagen at the age of 15. Riaan Cruywagen is an accomplished author and poet - though, humble by nature, he chooses not to write under his own title but prefers to go by psuedonyms such as W. Whitman, E . Hemingway, Proust, JD Salinger and G Chaucer - amongst others. Riaan Cruywagen?s first job was tutoring Pythagoras. After reading the news Riaan Cruywagen built the pyramids. It took precisely 17 minutes to draw up the plans and then a further six minutes to think them into existence.

    Shaving

with you Kona, those MEN that thinks it's gay to shave are probably scared they haven't sorted out their sexuality yet and might "turn gayish " if they do!! As for the dude that whipped Lance around on the MTB, nickname: Vanilla Gorilla.
  6. Anybody riding with these glasses at the moment, need to figure out which lens will serve the best. something that covers low light conditions seems more important seeing that anything other than clear helps in bright conditions. Options are: neutral grey, brown bronze, rose silver.
  7. mmmmm, the dutchman had time too ponder. If Burry was indeed that strong and fit, pushing Sauzer to improve, it would make the statement mmmmm literally, not figuratively ( which is afigure of speach ). Thats just dutchman logic, so much of a threat that he couldn't finish the race, who pushed who again??
  8. please define what is a Triathlon shop???? never realized Felt specializes in triathlon mountain bikes!
  9. It's a antiquated business model that has no place and can't be enforced, lack of serial numbers are completely different story. We had this discussion a few weeks ago, about what the relevant distributors obligations were in regards to imports etc. Almost all producers have a international warrantee that covers that product if bought from a registered dealer. It never says a dealer has to buy the product from the applicable countries importer/distributor, that is a company contract, not law! you pay your taxes and levies and you can import ANYTHING you want. Lack of serial numbers makes this a problem, seeing that the Mavic importer has no responsibilty to service or honour the warrantee seeing that the product can't be traced to see if it was bought from a registered dealer, locally or abroad. Give me the net and a credit card.
  10. As some would know there's a new bike shop ( actually just a Felt dealership) in Stellenbosch. These boys need to sharpen up there act very quickly if they want to hang around..... there is nothing in that place, except for a couple of Felt bikes, six pairs of shoes and some tights. Dropped in about three weeks ago to ask if they have a price on XTR's, didn't expect stock, but got a very helpfull give us your number and email and will drop you the prices asap....... well three weeks later...... yawn.... If someone knows the dude the owns the shop, Chris apparently, tell him goodwill is one thing, but competing against two existing shops who gets the job done is gonna take more than goodwill.
  11. TDF star admits doping 2008-10-15 20:45< = ="http://www.s24.co.za/s/Controls/Article/ArticleGreys.js?v=0" =text/> Email | Print http://cdn.24.com/files/Cms/General/d/16/1173c25ff615458dab3ac525723cc532.jpg Bernard Kohl (Gallo) Vienna - Austria's Bernhard Kohl, the best climber at this year's Tour de France and third overall, admitted on Wednesday to using CERA, the new generation of banned blood booster EPO. Kohl's admission, reported by Austrian state television and news site oe24.at, comes 48 hours after he failed a test for the drug in retroactive controls carried out by France's national anti-doping agency. The 26-year-old rider said he took the drug to help him speed up recovery after a heavy fall in June's Dauphine Libere, a Tour de France warm-up race. "I want to come clean," a tearful Kohl told a press conference at Vienna airport. "I fell to temptation. The pressure was incredibly strong. I'm only human and in this exceptional situation I showed weakness." Kohl said he had acted alone, and insisted that Hans-Michael Holczer, his former boss at German team Gerolsteiner, knew nothing about his use of CERA. "There was no systematic doping. Holczer knew nothing about it." In acknowledging his wrongdoing, Kohl, who has given up the right to have his second sample examined, faces a two-year ban, the loss of the prize money he picked up at the Tour, and the tearing up of his new three-year contract with Belgian team Silence-Lotto. He is the fourth rider on this year's Tour after Italian duo Riccardo Ricco and Leonardo Piepoli and Germany's Stefan Schumacher to have been caught out by the new tests for Cera (Continuous Erythropoiesis Receptor Activator).
  12. I second Jamis and Shaun, not daylight but more than enough. Might be a good thing you won't see the hell of a climb coming up from a mile away!!
  13. Sigma Led Black 3 settings, up too 90 lux, I ride on middle light, no issues! 5-6 hours, 3,5 for max setting, recharge 3hours, system weighs about 200-300 grams. R2500 about. Not sure why everyone wants daylight brightness in front of them, cost a small fortune, weights a ton, and doesn't make you go faster one bit!
  14. I'm a mountain biker, so road rules doesn't count, sidewalks are way safer! By the way, passing a car on the left is a traffic violation, ie, you cruising past a car in the same lane, so if the dude only switches on his indicator when rolling and you are next to him and he takes you out,,,, sorry for you,, you are actually liable for damage to his vehicle, you aren't allowed to be next to him in a single lane!!! seeing that we want road rules to be inforced to the max. Not to mention the roadies just turning left, red light or not, because " we only use 30 cm of the side of the road, why should we stop". Stop whining, stay out the cars way! you will loose!
  15. I am also lost with the last sentence???
