  1. I was really indecisive about the Pro vs the Sapphire, but ended up ordering the 6x Pro from EasyBike this morning. The R3k extra for the Sapphire was just too big a difference for the same functionality. I'll put a screen-protector on and see what happens. Excited to try out the new features.
  2. No music, maps, or wifi on the standard 6, only on Pro/Sapphire/Solar. The rest seems to be relatively the same features. Personally I wouldn't settle for the standard. dcrainmaker has several nice videos on the Fenix 6 range.
  3. This made me chuckle a bit. Second hand on a watch thread...
  4. Email sent
  5. Thanks, that helps. I'm going to go see if one of the stores has an open box of the Pro so I can see the color.
  6. So I am looking at buying the Fenix 6x. I'm leaning towards the Sapphire, but would probably have bought the Pro from Takealot for R9999 if I didn't miss that deal last week. The Pro is R12k at Takealot now, and the Sapphire is between R15k and R16k. At these prices I'll probably still go Sapphire (unless I get a really good deal on the Pro somewhere). I'm currently on a Fenix 3 (not Sapphire, not HR) I love the color of the bezel. Does this color compare to the 6x Sapphire bezel? Not so sure about the black on the Pro. Amazon is the same price as local after shipping, duties and having to buy additional maps. I've checked Takealot, Makro, EasyGIS, Navworld, Cape Union and Sportsmans Warehouse. Have I covered my options there, or are there any other suggestions on where to compare prices?
  7. I wear my Fenix 3 (not Sapphire and not even the HR) permanently. It's still going strong, but I'm tempted by the 6. Would prefer the Gray Sapphire, but $$$$. I understand the screen on the 6X Pro is less scratch resistant, but anybody have an opinion on the quality of the black finish on the 6X Pro? My Fenix 3 is years old and still looks good. The gray hides the scratches quite well, so bit concerned about how well the black is going to handle the day to day bumps and scratches.
  8. Thanks for the info. Ended up finding a pair at LBS. Might be older "model", not sure, but good price.
  9. I'm quite happy with my Indola thebusiness enduro baggies, but the lockdown seems to have shrunk them, so I have to order a larger size. The black is in stock but it seems to be a different material from the others. I have the charcoal one. Anyone have experience with both materials that could compare the two?
  10. Thanks for all the feedback. Had a look at the "Normal" ones today, but will hold out until I can have a look at the Enduro then.
  11. Hi everyone, I've been looking for baggies and I think I've decided on Indola. We don't have a store where I can compare the "normal thebusiness" with the "enduro thebusiness". Is there a big difference in the pad between the two? Are the inners removable for either of these shorts?
  12. Howdee. Two pedal questions... Shimano PD-M505 pedals took of my bike when I bought it. Brand new with the plastic reflector thing on it. I'm never going to use them and I need money for pedal upgrade. Worth anything to sell, or give it away? I'm planning on getting the Shimano Saint MX80 flat pedals, and have checked the sites I know as well as the lbs. Seems the best price at the moment is about R800? Anybody know of any better deals? Obviously trying to find the best price possible.
  13. That's what I thought, thanks for confirming.
  14. There are so many threads on the 26 vs 29 topic, and sorting through the trolling threads, and yes, no, yes, no threads is a bit tedious, so please excuse my bringing this up again. Guy at the office is looking at buying his first bicycle, and he is quite tall. When he walked into the LBS he was told straight away that he's too big for a 26" and that he has to buy a 29er, also something about being too heavy for a 26" frame. This p'd me off quite a bit, and we've been arguing this at the office the last couple of days, and my questions are quite simple I think. 1. Can you be too big for a 26" inch bicycle? We've been looking at 26 vs 29 geometry, and they don't seem to be that different when comparing similar frame sizes. 2. Is there any difference in frame strength between a 26" and 29er frame? I'm trying to remember if I saw tall people riding bicycles 5 years ago, or whether they were never fortunate enough to be able to ride until 29ers came out, but I can't remember that far back [super sarcastic face here]. Disclaimer: These questions are purely based on geometry and not the ride, and is in no way intended to bash any wheel size preference.
  15. Howdee, It's that time of the year. I'm itching to upgrade. I decided I'm not upgrading parts, but selling my current bicycle and buying something new. I'm planning on selling a Scott Aspect 30. What would be a realistic asking price for it? It's stock standard, so it's entry-level everything. Suntour Fork/Alivio RD/Acera FD/Acera Shifters/Alex Rims/Tektro Draco Brakes. Some normal use scratches. I think it's a 2012 model, but bought it this year March. About 650km (100km dirt roads / 550km tar and commuting). I'm having a hard time getting realistic second hand prices... I saw two prices (R4k and R5k). That's a bit high right? That's about what I paid for mine new.
