Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I'm a newbie to mountain biking. I purchased a Silverback without disc brakes before I knew anything. I've seen comments where people suggest definitely getting a bike with disc brakes, so I was wondering if it is possible to add disc brakes to a bike that doesn't have?

Thanks. I had the Thule roof rack installed and am using their roof mounted carriers. Works great!

I'm considering buying a Thule 911XT to bit onto my Jeep Compass, however I have heard stories about boot-mounted carriers damaging the car. Has anyone used the Thule boot-mounted carriers and experienced any problems with denting or scratching?
