Shimano Is as only as good as your mechanic is, If your mechanic is the best, then the XTR is the best, smooth and reliable, but on the other hand, if your mechanic is not so hot then neither is your XTR. While SRAM is a hard but precise shift, all the time. But I guess that's why I ride XTR, simply because I have the best mechanic........
