  1. Was one if the party that joined Zaskar this last weekend. I would definitely recommend the place for a relaxing chilled weekend with family or friends. Nothing beats game viewing from a bike instead of the confines of a car.
  2. This is truly sad. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> RIP Alan, my thoughts and prayers are with all your family and friends.
  3. Saw this guy at the start, didn't have the heart to tell him that Pick n Pay no longer sponsor the event. With the way things are going I think I might be keeping my number from this year. Just hope Momentum is still the sponsor.
  4. The corners are only as technical as you want to make them, at 10-15km/hr they not technical, but if you crank it up and start taking them at 30 plus, then yes they get technical. I started last year and crawled around but with every Tuesday I got better, now I can corner with best of them. Come give it a bash, you won't be disappointed and it's great training. And there are 6 turns and as ND said it's about 900m per lap. Oh and I think there was only one crash last year and the medics where there in a flash.
  5. Yipeeeeeeeeee, the best news I've heard all year. Can't wait!!! Thanks Alex.
  6. This no. 1 argument is way over done, I honestly believe it depends on the situation and the form the rider has at the particular event. Astana had 3 maybe even 4 possible contenders, when one showed his superiority then he becomes no. 1. Look at Wiggins /Vander Velde who?s the number 1? <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Had LA dropped AC on the climb to Verbier and showed consistently that he was the stronger then surely it would make sense for the team to get him to <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Paris in first place. And with a team like Astana 2nd and 3rd must have always been on the cards. i don't think it is overdone. the conflicting messages and everchanging position on what armstrong and contador's roles were to be in the run-up and then during the tour is exactly the reason for my first post here: that lance cannot claim kudos for "agreeing" to help the spaniard. the team works for one man; that's the way lance and johan, then alberto and johan always rolled. It was all just a smoke screen, Alberto was always no 1. They just did it so you guys in the media would keep it the headlines The teams objectives, I believe, were 1st and then if possible 2nd and 3rd but that aint going to happen now because someone lost the plot.

  8. I am no expert in the tactics of cycling. I do however understand sponsorship and who pays the bills.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> What baffles me in all of this is that there is no doubt AC is the strongest by far and will, baring an accident or mechanical in the last three stages, win this Tour. And this has been pretty obvious from stage 15 up to Verbier. Then surely from a team/ sponsors/ Managers/ team members point of view it only makes sense for the team to look at securing 2nd and 3rd place in the GC, which was certainly on the cards. I can only conclude that if there is a non team player in Astana, it must be AC who with his attack which left Kloden out of contention for a podium in <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Paris, showed us he is only interested in his victory and nothing else. If I had 4 million Euro I would certainly think twice before signing Mr. Contador onto my team. Just my 2c worth.
  9. Heard of the term foreplay??? just watch things start to heat up as from today.White Eagle2009-07-17 01:29:52
  10. It's at times like this that I love my PVR.
  11. It's just an attempt by the French to secure a win for some Frenchman in the breakaway on Bastille Day, pathetic!!!
  12. "At breakfast. UCI antidoping inspectors just walked in. Blood control for Levi' date=' klodi, alberto, and myself. This is a good thing..about 1 hour ago from UberTwitter" Lance on Twitter. Fand. give it a break bud, when/if they get bust then we can rip them apart until then lets just accept that it's the ice cream and enjoy the racing [/quote'] You mean like 2yrs ago when vino (astana rider) was busted? or last year Bernhard Kohl (Gerolsteiner) Riccardo Ricco (Saunier Duval) Leonardo Piepoli (Saunier Duval) Stephan Schumacher (Gerolsteiner) Moises Duinas (Barloworld) and on and on.... Until they get bust I will keep on watching and enjoying.
