  1. Aah this is exactly what I was looking for! Shukran E
  2. I'm looking to buy some new 26er trail type tires. Who sells decent trail tires here in South Africa? Any bike store recommendations?
  3. shot guys. simple straight forward it looks brand new morne! honestly i was shocked to see the condition. is yet to be tested(no brakes) on a side note how did you guys know its a 160-203 mount thats needed? struggled to find some kind of "brake mounts explain" link to figure it out for myself
  4. howzit. just recently got a 2013 lyric rc2dh fork and need get a post adaptor for a 203mm rotor. the previous for i had was 203mm rotor only so im just going with that again. i have avid elixr brake calipers so what post adaptor do i need? googling about says 180 to 203 adaptor but is there any specific type it has to be or will pretty much any one work with the right combination of spacers and bolts?
  5. Howzit guys if i wanted to cycle from Goodwood down to Marine Dr, would I be able to turn into Container Rd and then follow along Duncan road in the harbour area to pop out at the V&A. The reason for wanting to take it is because it seems a bit safer than other options to get from Goodwood to Town. Essentially the question is - are you allowed to cycle down Duncan road?
  6. 1x10 shifter 10spd cassette 10spd rear derailleur Then dump all your front rings and buy a rapidé 32t nw the chain ring bolts will work depending on the type of crank you have. To be honest I don't think it's an all doom and gloom situation like they make out at the bike store. You can pickup your groupset second hand for very cheap off the hub I dunno why they would say change everything
  7. do you have a pic of the bike with the mount on? tbh i didnt think robocops left arm was gonna be the solution but it would give me a use for the brake boss
  8. im not that into keeping it era specific though. i did see some modern day deore vbrakes on the hub the other day but didnt smaak it lol
  9. ive seen a couple of these mounts online that can be bought i guess. who knows if itll be an exact fit...in that case i can measure/draw it up and have a custom bracket made and make sure its sturdy enough to hold its alignment. in my head..bottom line is it must have discs i dont want to be limited to rim brake rims
  10. I have a 1999 Trek 810 single track. Its not a looker but its my first brand new in 1999 and its been up and down the old tokai and survived to tell the tail. (the bike below isnt mine but thats how it looks) I want to fit a new crank, fork, handle bars & stem and a single speed conversion just to modernise it a bit to make it a fun runner and breathe some new life into it. Big question is...how do i get a rear disc brake onto this frame?? the non-drive side has these two rings welded to the frame (drive side as well as seen in the pic). are these potentially a brake caliper adapter mount? if not where do i get a bolt on bracket to mount the caliper onto in cape town maybe? also...if the rings aren't brake mounts...what are they any thoughts, ideas and suggestions welcome
  11. Howzit guys does anyone know of a store in the Cape Town area that sells these quill stem adapters to convert a threaded 1" steerer tube to fit 1 1/8" stem? thanks
  12. shot guys will give it a poke tonight. so far my bleed kit cost is at about R220 which isnt bad. max wax mineral oil R95 and shimano funnel R95 and some odds n ends. not bad
  13. Hi I have a set of shimano brakes. BL m445 levers and BR m446 calipers. Ive been told that some brakes are bled from the top down ie. through the funnel down the system or through a syringe pushing oil through the caliper and up into the funnel. Apparently its either or and there is a risk of damaging the brakes if i get it wrong. most of the videos Ive watched show it being done from the bottom up then top down. Could someone please shed some light on the topic and offer one or two pearls of wisdom? Thanks.
  14. I must say I always gave way to riders doing down simply because I would like the same privilege to be afforded to me. I like the idea of up and down trails but like popcorn_skollie I tend to also slow down now (mostly) only cause I don't know what the ascending rider is thinking..."enduro" riders might be a bit over ambitious and those xc riders can be almost as brutal as roadies juiced up on usn nrgbomb ????...I don't want no beef
  15. Hey guys don't know how many times this has been posted but will start a new topic regardless. So I read this article and I'll post the link below that I found pretty interesting. It's about who has the right of way, riders going up or those going down. I hope this won't spark WW3 but I was under the impression that riders going down would have right of way since...well...they going down much quicker than those going up. So I'm definitely relooking my stance just based on the comments but I don't necessarily want to considering it would obviously result in a loss of adrenaline slowing down continuously for riders coming(selfish I know but I'm a once a week Sunday weekend warrior lol...I need the adrenaline fix). I know gspot has a one way up one way down and hoogekraal does too but I remember having a couple of run-in's at tokai back then with guys not giving way coming up. There was no board at the time stating riders coming up/down has clear right of way. What's the general census or sentiments in this regard from the hubbers out there? http://forums.mtbr.com/colorado-front-range/have-people-forgotten-uphill-riders-have-right-way-981780.html
