  1. I got some from a motorbike shop, KTM. It works great.
  2. I heard Malcolm Lange on SS last night and he comments on road cycling and the fact that it is a "fun rider" circuit is really irretating me. Factually he is correct that there is not a proper "Pro Tour" or "Pro" races in SA but reality is that is ALL we have. He always complains about the organisation of races, the distances, the lack of tours etc.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> There is a lack of money, sponsorship and the race organiser do their best with their limited resources and we should be grateful for that. The "fun rider" circuit does give all the pro's a platform to earn a living. This is an issue to be addressed by Cycling SA stop criticising what we have!!
  3. Did you guys watch supercycling last night they showed a insert on the Barloworld cycling team from inception till the withdrawal? It was excellent!!!!!!! Some great memories. I think they did a great thing for SA cycling and of course their brand. Robbie's TdF win probably being the greatest. If I had an ideal ending for the team it would have been the whole team participating in the 2009 94.7 and absolutely dominating the race (and they would have). But anyway well done Barloworld, great job.
  4. According to an article on SS there will be no Giro in 2010. One reads the reasons and the blame given to the econimic crush. But imagine Cycling SA and "others" worked together on a strategy and prioritised sponsorships and races etc.
  5. For the second time in a year my flex plate on my GT i-drive broke. This is apparently a consumable part on the bike but surely this is desgn fault. What I want to know are there any other riders that have had similar problems or have a opinion?
  6. How was everyones race, I was a bit concerned about the safety and marshalling? We rode in the Tandem group and started first. Going through Boksburg various of the intersection had no marshalling. We had to stop at the robots. When we met the shorter races at a very busy intersection it was absolute mayhem. What were they thinking???? But the route was fast and quite a nice race except for the above..
  7. I have to get something off my chest but my goodness bicycle spares are tooooooooooooooo F*&^ing expensive in this place. In most cases it is cheaper to import, even at a weak exchange rate. Even buying spares on the high street in London is cheaper. MTB Tudeless tires, chains, etc the list is endless.
  8. Did you see him through his bike at the Giro yesterday. They are sponsored by Shimano!!!!
  9. The level I think we can play by ear at the moment. This time of year we are probably slowing down a bit, let see how it goes.
  10. Lets start on Tuesday 5am at Chilli Lane shopping centre's entrance. The route we can discuss on the day! Road bikes.
  11. Normally training Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. From 5am for about an hour and a half (+- 45km). In the week "road" seems to be a better option but we could alternate.
  12. I have done the Engen Classic with the "Pro's" a few times now but I am looking for a ride closer to home. Chilli Lane shopping centre or Paulhof M&B. Anyone interested or have a group going????
  13. But he is still flying the SA Flag...(RSA)
  14. Here is something I do not understand. Why are we (SA Cyclists) not raving about Ian? I think he is doing very well and surely deserves a lot of airtime?
