  1. My poor wording... What I mean is how much does a standard def PVR decoder cost (if there is such a thing)? I have one standard DSTV decoder at present, though would a) like to be able to transmit signal to another room i/e 2nd TV set. b) record programs
  2. Anyone know if it's possible to upgrade standard single view DSTV box to a PVR one, and if so what's it cost???
  3. ....and I thought UK was expensive Back when the US$ was very weak against the Pound, I knew quite a few riders who were ordering in from the US and saving quite a bit even after being hit with import duty etc. Spesh shoes, Scott frames etc. Not quite so favourable now with the current exchange rate though. CRC are very good, though Wiggle was my preferred on-line store for most stuff. CRC seemed to specialize in MTB a bit more. I bought a pair of Conti GP4000 clinchers a few months back in CT, and was shocked to find them more expensive than the Conti Competition tubulars I bought back in UK!
  4. Thanks
  5. Thanks, will try those two... (errr....what is 'WE' Cycles? apologies- new to the area )lord brush2009-03-05 07:15:47
  6. Anyone know where in Cape Town I can get hold of some tubular sealant (Vittoria Pit Stop or similar)? CW Cycles have none btw....
  7. Indeed, I've seen such behaviour on other certain US and UK cycling forums and I guess I should've known better Still, I've decided to have a lay-off from road biking/ racing for a while so guess I wont miss trolls n the like.... Anyone who is interested in buying a 56cm Addict with Wh7850-C50-TU's and/ or the aforementioned C25-CL's watch the classifieds Argus race entry also up for grabs.....
  8. I've been cycling/ racing for 24 years on n off, so I have ridden a fair few wheels in my time I guess the carbon laminate faring goes some way to absorbing road 'buzz'- especially on the roads over here which are far less forgiving than those in the UK. My old Ksyriums feel much harsher. The hubs are extremely well engineered also, though they do take a while to bed-in as they are a bit sticky out of the box...
  9. They are superb wheels. Stiff, light, comfortable and predicatable in the winds. I got a pair to match the WH-7850-C50-TU's I have. I *ahem* may be selling a nearly new pair in the next few weeks when I've decided whether or not I'm selling my race bike I bought them in the UK before I moved out here, and I've trained on them probably about 10 times in dry weather. I'll keep you posted on my decision if you are still interested in the near future.
  10. I had ITBS a fee years back. Agonizing! Mine was down to leg length discrepancy whereby one of my legs was a good few cm longer than the other. This meant my pelvis was 'dipping', down to accomodate the difference which was in turn putting pressure on my ITB andinflaming the tendon over the knee. ITB stretches before and after (and during if training and you stop for a brew etc), will help. Also consider dropping saddle height a few mm. Maybe have physio look to see if you have leg length diffs as well- some people need to shim their cleats etc to accomodate....
  11. Yup, a friend suggested the ship yard route. Sounds tres romantic- I'll have to try it.... In fact thinking about it, where the flip do most people head for from Table View, as Chapmans Peak is closed anyway (as I found out the other weekend I know, I should get up early and tag along with a group, but these early starts make me wince....
  12. Cool. I'm fed up of bikes anyway..... A pair of Speedo's has got to be more affordable than all these moving parts.
  13. On a similar topic and also a newbie tring to find his feet in CT, what the hell is the best way of getting across town from Table View to Sea Point etc and avoiding the multi-lane drag trips leading into the city centre?
  14. Great- thanks for the replies. I'm just trying to find my legs and meet up with riders and get to know the routes etc etc. Haven't raced since May, and done very little training since due to relocation gubbins, but looking forward to battling into this light wind you seem to have I'll try n' hook up with the Cycles Direct mob at the weekend then. Any groups meet in the week also? Cheers....
