  1. Yep. That was me. Almost exactly a year ago in that exact spot. I was sitting ALONE on that barrier. Any more single file than that is not possible! And this dude lost control of his vehicle on the bend and up the blind rise and the rest i guess is history.... But please let's be careful out there and don't be THAT guy ..... be lekker.

But lets talk about the really important stuff. How disappointing was that goodie bag? Not even a t-shirt this year. Granted you could buy one, but at R350 a pop? For that entry fee I expected more quite frankly.

Eish if you're not even racing and seeded A, then what am I doing in A? They just make this **** up. I'm convinced. OK bye
  4. On 2nd Feb this year I was hit by a drunk driver at the top of Suikerbossie. We were coming from Camps Bay side, so if you know the road, it's dead straight at the crest with a very wide verge left of the yellow line. I was sat on the guard railing, waiting for my mates to catch up when this guy came along. Thankfully I was "lucky". I say lucky - well because i'm still around. Spent 11 days in ICU and a total of 18 days in hospital. My right ear was completely detached, left humerus was shattered, left fibula fractured, right radial nerve was damaged in my arm - so i have no control over my right wrist and the list just goes on. Point is, I've been riding for years, and consider myself to be a cautious, courteous, vigilant, law-abiding and considerate cyclist (and driver for that matter). But in a split-second your life can change and through no fault of your own. Drunk driving is just not considered by most to be a serious offence. People will still 'take that chance'. We need harsher punishment for drunk drivers. This road carnage simply cannot continue........ Lastly, my deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of the fallen cyclist and also wishing the injured riders a speedy recovery.
  5. Sorry to hear about your bike and i hope you find it. Never knew that Muslim was ever a distinguishing feature and to be quite honest, I find it slightly offensive that you use it as such. You might want to rethink that one. Nevertheless, good luck in tracking down your bike.
  6. I think its's time to get SAPS involved ShaheedG. These guys need to be brought to book.
