  1. Well done guys! Lot of work goes into bringing a new trail into the world ... look forward to riding it soon.
  2. That's them in the upper right of the picture. Thanks Plentipotential!
  3. Hey - I didn't name the towers! That's just what they're called down here... Sensational views and a great place to live if you like riding Table mountain jeep tracks..
  4. Spruit riders - where is the best place to start the ride to get max distance? Is Field and Study a good start? NancyDrew - we have 3 tampon towers! in a row, like triplets with PMS
  5. Sure you can, combination of jeep track and walking paths. You exit at Deer Park or a little a higher up onto Tafelberg Road just after the cable car station.
  6. Thanks Grondpad, you da man! From my side: I dig my table mountain loop from my house up to Rhodes mem, to the tampon towers, across Klooknek to signal hill, then all the way back along Tafelberg Rd, bombing down the jeep tracks at the end, with a fast finish down the back of the memorial to the bridge. Off-road riding that starts from your door rules! Also Tokai is always good, lots of singletrack, great views and a nice testing hill climb to the mast. Bonus points for being 10 minutes drive away..
  7. Gronpad - thanks man - would you mind giving me a clue why these are your best?
  8. Sorry guys - Mountain bike routes please! Dirtbreath - this is a sidebar piece for a main article written by someone else for one of the men's mags, not a cycling publication. I'll post a link to the story once its accepted - is that ok?
  9. I am writing an article for a local magazine on best local routes. Please let me know your regular or favourite ride and why you like it! Cape Town's easy but where are the great rides in Gauteng and beyond? Your opinions please!!
  10. Classic! Hope he finds the guy too... MeSuperFast2009-10-26 05:01:43
  11. This is spam, and i hope the good people from the Epic shops didn't put him up to it. It'sso much to be honest and transparent about who you are what you're doing: if you work there, just say so. It doesnt really change the message.
  12. Jaguar - I agree 100%. There are plenty of flamers, knobs and lurkers with nothing better to do than cause ***. I have no intention of buying anything but I love looking at bikes, so I browse and keep my mouth shut even when the price is way high or the bike total rubbish.
  13. I agree .. love races, but have stopped because i feel shafted by the entrance fees. Factor in petrol, lunch etc and you've dropped R300 for a fun ride.. Race organisers are simply greedy; there is no way their costs can justify the price inflation we've seen over last 3 years. I reckon entry prices have doubled in that time.
