  1. I had that experience before I purchased my first bike. The salesman at Cycle lab tried to sell me, I think it was a Merida(can't remember) he had in stock, a Carbon bike, instead of a cheaper entry level bike that wanted. I suppose most of these bike shops try to get rid off their in store stock before ordering new.
  2. I have purchased 4 bikes thus far from Cajees in Boksburg and I am in the process of purchasing a 5th. Since I am away for holiday, they even offered to send the bike to me down to the coast . I have not had any problems with them in terms of services, prices, etc. I even returned a road bike after purchasing it as I had changed my mind. They took it back no questions asked and the manager, Ahmed, gave me an even better deal on the next bike. Havnt received better prices from anywhere else. They just did a complete bike rebuild for a friend of mine at no charge. One of the staff, Bilal, gladly assists me with any bike issues on weekends and holidays. Personally I won't shop anywhere else.
  3. There are various possibilities. 1. Most common cause: the strap is not tight enough on the chest. 2. When passing power lines or any other source of interference. 3. When descending at high speeds at high altitude. 4. Faulty battery on the chest sensor
  4. Hi, I am looking to upgrade my wheels on the Scott Foil 40 I came across an offer for a set of DT Swiss rr1450 mon chasseral wheels. Any comments on it, and what should I pay more or less for a brand new set? Thanks
  5. I ride a size 49 on a rode bike, translates to a size XS. The guy at the bike shop advised against a 29' due to my frame size. The Titan carbon pro apparently has better components (Full XT, Rockshock Reba, ZTR crest tubeless wheels) than the Giant xtc and other alluminium brands in the same price range (R15-18k). Yes I know that Titan as a brand cannot compare to Giant, Scott etc, but should the components play a role in the decision?
  6. Wanting to buy a mountain bike for cross training away from the road bike. These are the options that I have been given thus far : 1. Giant XTC 2 (alluminium 27.5 around R15-16k)...2. Titan Carbon pro 27.5 (special price R17.5k normally over R20k)....also looking at the Silverback slade 1. Havnt looked at Scott yet. Personally I don't need carbon, but the price I am getting on the Titan carbon is tempting. Also I want 27.5 not 29, due to my height. Any advice? Should I go for something cheaper, like the Giant xtc, or a Scott Aspect 610 26' for about R7k, or is it worth spending that extra?
