  1. Or you could just contact the Church and ask them nicely to take it down. I sent them a message on Facebook.
  2. My Garmin Edge 800 wasnt picking up my heart rate, I thought the battery in the sensor was flat, so I changed that but the problem persisted. I figured I would stop by the Garmin head office in Honeydew seeing that it is close to home and buy a new sensor. I told them what was wrong and before I could finish my story, they took my Garmin and gave me an entire brand new unit "just in case it gave me any more hassles". I have had it almost a year so it wasnt exactly new out the box. I am so impressed with Garmin's service, I dont think I will ever buy sometihng else.
  3. Solomons in Woodmead sells some pretty good bike racks. I think the brand is "Bike Carrier" or something like that. Will post a pic later on. I just added some pipe insulation (so like foam with a hollow core) used to insulate aircon pipes etc. Available from the plumbing shop in the same complex as Solomons. I have my Superfly hanging from this. I got 4x 10mm plugs with hex heads to fasten them to the wall. No chance these badboys are coming out.
  4. I'll take one of these please Santa. http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero3-black-edition
  5. Nice website with info on our local snakes. http://www.africanreptiles-venom.co.za/rinkhals.html
  6. Yeah, was very dead. i would not have approached if i could not see that it was half eaten Subsequent rides through that section have been at quite a pace.
  7. If it helps any, there were a lot of holes in the ground in the direct vicinty. About the same diameter as a waterbottle.
  8. Haha, no they both had heads
  9. The underside was black and every now and then a white strip. Much like the picture above. I was always under the impression that a rinkhals was skinnier.
  10. Yeah there are plenty of Mongoose around there so I hope it was that. I am no expert, but it didnt look like it was killed by a human. Also there are pretty much only mountain bikers going through this reserve so I hope none of them would do something like this.

Give it a couple of days, there is a lot of manual work involved "tagging" people in every picture they upload. They need to physically look at the photo to see your race number I assume.
  12. We found this snake on the trail at Modderfontein last weekend. Looked like it had been killed by some sort of bird/animal. A lot of the tail end of it had been eaten. And then a few meters down the road, another just like it, killed in the same way. Any snake experts out there to identify species? (The picture doesnt do it any justice in terms of size, was about as thick as my arm.)
  13. I am running Shimano 10 speed XT (3x10). I am pretty sure my derailleurs and cables are properly adjusted. Gears shift perfectly. Wierd thing happens though. When my gears are in the smallest chainring and the smallest cog and I backpedal, the chain climbs off the guide pulley and the chain climbs up three cogs on the cassette. If I then pedal forward, it goes back to the smallest cog. I know I dont ride in this combination of gear, but it never used to do this so it cant be right. Furthermore, my mate has exact same bike, and it doesnt happen on his bike. I recently replaced the chain. Cassette doesn't seem worn at all. Any ideas? I know I can take it to my mechanic... but I wont learn anything that way
  14. LOL Thanks Stevief... yeah on second thoughts I'm just going to stick with the wheels I have. Yeah the Ex's are on special at Solomons. They have a few left.
  15. Thanks for the useful info Splat I think in the meantime I'll convert my wheels to tubeless and hang on for those wheels.
