Just a quick question for those that swim at Emmerentia: Do you have tags to access the change rooms at the canoe club? I wanted to swim there the other day but there was nobody there and I didn't fancy putting on my wetsuit in the parking lot. I really don't want to drive there in my wetsuit either, would look strange if I crashed into somebody and got out of my car in a wetsuit, especially if I had my goggles on too

I did the 1KM Heia Safari swim yesterday and really enjoyed it, I think I'll give the 3KM a try next time now that I know there's a speedboat and paddlers out there to help anybody that gets stuck . Is anybody swimming at Emmerentia this week? I might go for a wetsuit swim there tomorrow after work.

Haha, I did end up having to do that and a bit of a doggy paddle to get back to the jetty.

I've had the same issue on my back brake, did you not get oil or brake fluid on the pads? Some hard braking on steep downhills eventually got rid of it for me but it took a while.

I went for a swim in Emmarentia yesterday, the water was clean by the jetty but not as clean closer to the inflow, I think it's probably from the recent rains. Open water swimming was pretty tough for me, no sides to hold onto when you're tired . I'm gonna train a bit more in the pool before going again.

It's the lightning that puts me off, wouldn't I be the highest point around while swimming in a dam? Forecast says that it should be sunny by 17:00 so hoping for the best.

I'm going to go there this afternoon after 17:00, didn't go yesterday because of the storm, I might go on Friday too. I'd also rather not swim there alone but I think it should be OK if there are paddlers there too.
