  1. Congrats to Froome.. I remain a sceptical though. Do those knocking Contador know that he won 2 grand tours since his positive test? Maybe Contador's time is up. History says the best cyclists have a 5 year winning span at Grand Tours. I think Contador's performance is equal to the Vuelta last year when on a very hot day he lost 19secs in the last km to a Froome attack. Today Froome attacked at 6km to go. 6 x 19 secs is 1min 54secs, Kreuziger helped today

  3. I just find it strange that Froome never won a professional race in SA but is now amongst the best... His form took a very sudden upward turn in 2011. He said he got bilharzia in 2010, then it was treated. Then his upward turn in form. He is still on the drugs which I find strange. Anyways. Only two drugs which treat bilharzia - Praziquantal and Oxamniquine. Maybe I'm wrong but GC guys generally have a long cv of form since young. With Froome it may be magic
  4. Until Froome gets off the bilharzia drugs he can't be beaten. It increases your red blood cells to combat bilharzia and he's taking of the drug for the last three years is in sync with his sudden rise to the top.
  5. Froome looked real good but the attack was strange... Wasted energy or practise for stage 3 when the 8% will be 3kms and not 1km
  6. Interesting fact.. The rally of Corsica is called the rally of a thousand bends.. Saxo have named 2 "bodyguard" teammates for Contador.. And I suspect Benatti is in the team for the TTT and to ensure Saxo start the TTT after SKY by going for minor places in Corsica
  7. I think Movistar are dark horses for the TTT. Also, Quintana thrashed Porte earlier this year at an ITT. Froome will be the favorite and will probably dominate the 1St week, but at the Vuelta 2012 he panicked, attacked arrogantly and was cracked badly over three weeks by Valverde, Rodriguez and Contador... When many attack simultaneously, Sky lose.. Happened at the Vuelta and Olympic road race
  8. Contador in seven grand tours where he finished 1St. Won by: 2007 tour - 23secs 2008 giro - 1min 57secs 2008 vuelta - 46secs 2009 tour - 4mins 11 secs 2010 tour - 39secs (positive test) 2011 giro - 6mins 10secs 2012 Vuelta - 1mins 16secs Wiggins in 2012 tour won by 3mins 21 secs gaining most times in climbs and ITT just like Contador... Is Wiggins explosive? And why is Contadors biggest victory after he tested positive and was monitored relentlessly?
  9. To all Contador haters.. He was never found guilty of doping. He was found guilty of ingesting a miniscule level of a banned substance that the Court of Arbitration said had been in contaminated food supplements/gel that he and his team doctor didn't pick up. When an athlete tests positive he has the burden to say how the substance got into his body... Similar to past banned Springboks. Because the Boks guys correctly identified the source and mistake, they got off, because Contador could only show it was a mistake but misidentified the source he was found guilty.
  10. Contador has a long history with pollen allergies and bad ITT's in the dauphine. Was 1min 46secs behind Brajkovic in 2010 dauphine ITT. Haters of Contador forget that in the 7 Grand Tours that he has finished first, he has on 5 occasions won by less than 2mins and 3 of those times by a few seconds. Man was never a machine
