  1. Ok, so I got the entries, lucky I guess. Looking at changing the garments for a larger size. So if there are any "substitutes" out there looking to exchange two sets of "L" for two sets of "XL", please let me know. Cheers
  2. Anyone have or know of anyone wanting to get rid of their 2014 team entries. Please let me know. 0827819186
  3. So, off to the Big Red Barn we go for our Saturday morning ride.On arrival we noticed that they had an MTB event on. We went inside for a cappuccino and a chat, to find out if we could still ride the track. We were informed by one of the family members managing the event that they were having a charity ride and that we could indeed still ride the track, but need to be mindful of the other riders. When we asked about paying, we were told not to bother but were pointed to a donation box on the counter, which we gladly made a fair deposit into. After our ride we returned to the barn for another cappuccino. As we were leaving I was asked by another family member if we paid for the ride, I explained that I did not and that I was told not to(by another family member). I was there and then confronted by another family member insisting that I make payment, very confrontational and non negotiable. I asked what they wanted as payment as I never rode here before, they insisted I pay forty rand per rider, I paid for two riders and just left. I really do not mind paying my way, but do not appreciate being confronted and miss guided they way I was. Will I be back, hell yeah... next time I feel like riding some awesome single track and being treated like one of the farm workers I’ll be there like Flash Gordon.
  4. Ok, before i get whipped for just pitching up and complaining; this is a new profile, AKA Fast R. Think some of the guys are a bit cautious of airing their views, so from the thread and my experience here are some issues I believe requires adressing; Number collection, queing a bit of a mess Batching in general was not organised, mixed starts Track was awesome, but marking was not as good as some of the hubbers are alluding to (various groups missing the track) Timing - not too sure if manual timing is the way of the future Only USN spike at the end of the race, no water, I was mowing the lawn at 1am Sunday morning. No goody bags, dont give me the "its about the ride not the GB" crap. Forgot to add the bloke with the broken ribs and the stolen bike. If I had a USN and a Nissan on the same weekend, it will be the Nissan for sure. Hope someone of influence will pick this up and use it constructively, cause the track is awesome, organising just needs to be jacked.
