  1. You present races to make money. Any proper events company will still try and up the entry fees and reduce the costs and get more sponsors.
  2. Really. I am not so sure about this. If you do not make money then why do it for the love of the sport? 50 times a year. I beleive you employ Mr. de Villiers. To Messrs De Villiers and du Toit this is a huge income. Mr du Toit has a business supplying the medals. Mr de Villiers does all the printing. They have scores of paid volenteers through a church. And And And. Why does the 2 gentleman organise so many races? They have nothing to do with their time. I am not so sure. Making money and lots of it? Yes baby for sure. Do the maths. Without a sponsor you can show a profit with 120 riders then you buy and supply coke and not that watered down Powerade krap. You pay for everything else including route marking and marshalls. You pay for lead vehicles. At most of your events everything is sponsored. And it baffles me that you think we are stupid enough to believe all you say. I will give you credit though. Without the events being taken over by the 2 gentleman most events would have been of the calendar because of lack of organising skills and commitment from clubs. It is a fact that at most clubs members are just members and are only interested in cycling. Just a few 3 or 4 members are actively involved in running the club and organising races. Maybe you are involved as part of your marketing strategy where you get tax rebates for one and exposure to your clients and dealer network.
  3. I must admit the commercialisation of cycling events are killing the sport. Max entry fees max profits max benefit to charities. This killed of most of the smaller races. Also all the service providers are very expensive. On line entries and timing is very over priced. Why must cycling money go to charities.
  4. Proof that they need someone to do it for them. You can phone me. I will pay R 11.00 a rider........
  5. Only R 10 a rider x 1000 riders = R 10 000.00. How much did the organiser make? A pretty penny. You can make that with a silly around the church event with 140 entries organised by 5 people. That is why they are crying now because they sold their goose and golden egg. An all this you got because you were either to lazy to do the work your selves or you did not know how to secure the sponsors etc. Really only ten rand a rider? Your previous own organised race was how much in the Telkom days when there were allegations of hundreds of thousands that was channelled in the wrong direction. Are you upset because the organiser saw a good opportunity to make really good money?
  6. Agree 100%. Not necessary for the club to play the emotional card.
  7. O one more thing is their malicious intent if you request your club members to boycott races because Wynand and Johan dut Toit is involved? Lost City? Request on facebook?
  8. Supacycling = Wynand de Villiers. Wynand joined forces with ASG and is still the organiser of the race. The fact that he was allowedto organise the race for 3 years is proof that there must be an agreement. Who got all the big sponsors? Wynand or the club? Should the club now present the race without Wynand will Bestmed and everyone else still sponsor after this dirty laundry in public. Is it good business sense to sign away your rights and profits to someone else for R 10 a rider? Or were you desperate at the time? The club uses the Childrens Home as emotional blackmail to strenghten their case. Why? The club paints the picture that this affair is threatening the livelihood of the Childrens Home. They only take care of the cycling bit. There is a farm where the kids go for all kind of activities. They do scuba diving, cycle tours and a whole host of things. I agree the kids have a hard time. But they are more priveleged than most other kids in South Africa who will never have the same experiences and opportunities and holidays. There is a number of organisations who contribute and raise funds for the childrens home. When the previous Jacaranda cycling club Samcor dissolved they left more than R 200 000 for the Childrens home for their cycling programme. The home received all Samcors equipment a whole container full. According to the contract how can the race be highjacked? Was the agreement ever signed? Who paid the calendar fees and who registered the race with CSA. If it was Wynand does he now own the race?
  9. Are you sure something was stolen? Let them post the contract here then we can decide.
  10. No not true. There is an agreement that ASG will organise the race on behalf of pops' club in exchange for a fee per rider. The event is then marketed as an ASG event under the bigger ASG umbrella using all ASG systems and infrastructure. Obviously ASG makes a lot of money from the event and then pay the club the agreed fee. Quite simple. When the club was hosting the race it had much less entries. I think the club was very desperate at the time of entering into the agreement. Can the club not post the agreement here then we can all see what was agreed.
  11. Ag come on Daddy stop playing the emotional Childrens Home Card. The home gets enough sponsorships. In fact sometimes they get too much according to an inside source. Bringing in the Childrens Home as a sympathy card is emotional black mail. This is really bad style. You were previously Telkom Club. There were many stories doing the rounds about wasting money and money going missing. Is the stories true. You entered into an agreement with ASG. Please post a copy of the agreement here then we can all see what you have agreed too. An ASG insider told me that you still get exactly what you agreed too with them for them hosting the race. Is it true that your current management did not sign the deal with ASG and are unhappy with deal signed by your previous management. Apparently you now want more than initially agreed with ASG. Why did you agree to this organsising company arranging your event. If I remember correctly the event was going downhill fast in relation to the number of entries and income. By the look of things ASG turned the event around. Why do you not take the matter to court. Hopefully ASG will take it to court. I can remeber when some of your members and previous management were part of the all mighty GNC, CSA clans and him they she really damaged cycling in Pretoria with their Cycle tour timing deals. Maybe the wheel has turned on you. You have the same track record for bullying and hijacking. Why do I want to support your boycott if it is your clubs favourate past time to boycott other clubs. You have such an wonderfull history in this department. Viva ASG Viva.
