  1. On this topic, how long did everyone measure the swim. My Fenix 2 measured at 2500m
  2. The shower in the male bathroom have been removed, it is a toilet now.
  3. I am also looking for training partner but for Road. Live in Van RiebeeckPark. I try do 100km on Sunday mornings, rest of the week is indoor trainers and running.
  4. My best one yet, did a 5:44. Was caught out by the speed on the bike. Definitely need to train for speed on 90km. Using a Garmin Fenix 2 I had elevation gain of 784 on the bike and 62 on the run. I missed the timing mat when exiting the swim so only stop the swim leg when I entered transition, measuring a total of 2787m. Biggest gripe I have is that they don't seem to encourage spectators/partners at the finish. So everybody bundled up at the bridge trying to get photo's. I will definitely be back, it is just tough to train for this one during the winter.
  5. Thanks, iceid looks like a good option
  6. Hi Was wondering what form of identification one should take with while out riding for if something goes wrong. Most of my riding I am doing alone. I normally take my cell with and just my drivers license. But yesterday while out shopping I discovered that my drivers license was still on my road bike and I have been through quite a few road blocks recently without it. H
  7. My garmin strap also started giving wrong readings the times it did give readings. Replaced batteries but had the same problem. Decided to visit Sportsmanswarehouse to get a polar belt. The sales lady said it would not work and promptly got a polar belt and opened a garmin watch to get the sensor. This specific sensor kept popping of the belt, but I decided to try it in any case. My sensor that came with the fenix 2 watch fitted perfectly to the polar strap and the readings are working fine. Best would be to take your sensor with when getting the polar belt to confirm that the sensor fits.
  8. I have done the previous one, if I have time open I will do the one on the 14th as well. The routes was not to bad and the event is OK. It is a nice sprint distance so flat out from the word go. Just don't expect nice toilets.
  9. Bike and run maps are on the triathlon SA site: http://www.triathlonsa.co.za/Public/ViewEvent.aspx?id=729
  10. Has anyone entered this event, is it worth doing? See entries are closing today.

This was an awesome event, nice preparation for 70.3. Run was my strong point but I like the bike more. The weather was just perfect. Now I need to go swim, I was almost last at the swim.
  12. Hi Rasper, I am also from Kempton. I normally cycle from home to Modderfontein, they have different route options, and then I cycle back home. This normally gives me about 60km of cycling. I haven't done red barn yet so can't comment.
