  1. Hi Al I am staying in Umkomaas for the next 6 months or so. Are there any MTB or road groups riding in the area on the weekends and weekday mornings before 8am?
  2. Yes, busy with construction I believe. It has a BMX track, 4X track and about 7km of trails already. There is a restaurant and shop there too. Not sure who owns it, but they have lots of cash it seems. I stand to be corrected, but I think they are building a downhill run too. It is just past the traffic circle you head towards Lanseria on the Rhino/Lion Reserve on the Tweefontein road in Kromdraai.
  3. those smaller jumps option too... Have you heard much about that TEAK place? Sorry, not sure who taught me English...
  4. Good to hear, some of us adults will be using those smaller jumps option too... Have you heard much about that TEAK place?
  5. The point I am trying to make is that the pump track is awfully'tight' and too short. With all that space, they could have actually built something more useful in my eyes. Make no mistake, the kiddies love it... It is about the only place they ride while being in full sight of mom who is sipping her coffee! And, for one final comment: In my opinion, the BMX track will probably scare more kids away than get them into the sport - Yes it is world class, but the size of the jumps are scary as hell! Sfiso is prob the only guy who can ride them!
  6. OH sorry, I thought a pump track was something like this: Silly me!
  7. I agree with you! I am a keen XC rider and I went to the bike park last week for the first time. For me, it is just a bigger Logwood. Some wooden bridges are already collapsing, there is major drainage issues and I got dizzy after 2 laps on the "midget" pump track....(I actually thought it was a kiddies section)? It seems it was built in a rush without much thought and now alas, everyone is on holiday so I doubt there is any trail maintenance happening. They should have got Meurant Botha to build the bike park - He is a GURU!
