  1. Hi All, I stay in Protea Heights, Brackenfell, and would like to find a group of people to cycle with duriong the week. Perhaps a fun little loop from Brackenfell -> Polkadraai -> Devon Valley -> Botterlary Road. Anyone interested or know of any groups?
  2. lol. Will post some pics once I have it ;-)
  3. I am about to purchase the Merida Ninety Six 6000 dual suspension bike, here is the full spec: http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_int/bikes/full-suspension/cross-country-marathon/2017/ninety-six-6000-6360.html This bike retails for R47000, but with some discount, I can get it for R36000. Is this worth it?
  4. I never knew they did this. I would imagine this is a road event, hence the backup vehicle. Is there riders on their mountain bikes participating as well?
  5. I have asked this question before, without any luck, so might be worth asking again. Is there group rides in the Brackenfell area? Maybe a bunch of riders not minding new people joining their crew? I have a mountian bike, and I do about 50% mountain biking and 50% road riding, just not wanting to ride alone anymore. If there is and you don't mind me joining, please forward me some details.
  6. Is there any MTB groups or social rides happening during the week and weekends that I can join in the Brackenfell area? I would really like to cycle in a group. Thanks
  7. Same happened to me. I also received an email to say I was successful and later received one saying I was unsuccessful. Closer to the time, you will be able to pick up a ticket, as people cannot always make it, you will just need to be prepared to pay double the price.
  8. I have recently started to cycle again. The last time I rode MTB was in Matric (2008). I currently have a Giant Boulder, I think it is a 2007 model. However, since I started again, I am looking at buying myself a new bike, but stuck on these two models. Giant Revel 0 29'er 2014: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-in/bikes/model/revel.0/15133/66919/#specifications GT Karakoram Sport 29'er 2014: http://www.sunsetmtb.co.uk/shop/index.php?product_id=2598 Which of thses two models are the better option? I will mostly be riding single tracks, and a little road riding. Also, are these models really such a big upgrade from the boulder, enough for me to see/feel the difference? What other models can I consider in this price range, that might be offer me a bit more? Thanks.
