32 - The number of new riders that tried out track with Trackcyclingsa club at the Bellville velodrome this year.

The event will be the ideal way to spend a social Friday night at the Bellville velodrome with beer garden, energy drinks and coffee on sale. Why not come through directly to the velodrome after work and enjoy some Thai style sandwiches or more traditional fair such as pannekoek, koeksisters, doughnuts and coffee. Steri Stumpi (rumoured to be the perfect post workout drink) also on sale. Winter green, Chris Willemse, Ubuntu Bikes and more on display at the expo. National champions, national team riders and provincial riders participation. Come see what track is about and we might even see you on track soon.

I fully agree. Trackcyclingsa is moving our Track on Tuesday to a Friday evening if there are no calendar clashes with the road (e.g. seeding events). It is ideal for example to go with the family and/or friends to a restaurant for supper and then to come and watch live sport entertainment at the velodrome for FREE from 7-9pm. The Trackcyclingsa Track on Tuesday was scheduled for 6 Nov, but then our ride will now move to 9 Nov. Do you now of any road events on the 10th?

Contact me if want to know more on how get started. I have rental bikes for first timers who want to try out the track. The session also includes 1.5 hours of coaching covering your introduction to the track. Currently I've introduced more than 20 riders to the track and the guys/girls generally rent a bike for a couple of times and then source their own. Coaching is provided with every bike rental and riders that have acquired their own bikes still train with me (no cost) when I take out the newcomers until they are ready to go on their own. Bernard Esterhuizen who represented South Africa in track cycling at the London 2012 Olympics will be participating in the Interprovincial track cycling competition on Friday 17 August. Racing starts at 7pm. Over 5,000 people have been invited and entry is free to this track cycling event.. This gives Capetonians the chance to share in an experience that many may have only seen on TV while the Olympics were on. Hi, It would be dangerous to try this on a road bike. Please email me at jaco@trackcyclingsa.co.za and we can make arrangements. I have timeslots for 24, 25, 26 and 27 that we can still use to give you a chance to ride this side of the year. Trackcyclingsa has bikes to train most sizes of riders.

...until then training will continue and I encourage more people to try out track cycling and enjoy the sport. The track is open for most of Dec and Jan. There will definately be riding in the Cape and the year kicks of with a highlight as the German national team is training at the velodrome in January. A full league calendar has already been booked and these are the dates released by WP cycling for the league and other major events: Here are the dates for the WP Track League for 2012 as well as other dates: 24 January 21 February 13 March 30 March to 1 April WP TRACK CHAMPS 12 June 10 July 14 August 11 September 9 October 13 to 14 October CPT GRAND PRIX 6 November 13 December 14 December 26 December BOXING DAY (PAARL) Worst case scenario we go to Faure st in Paarl to ride while the velodrome is closed.

Yup. Once its dry it's too late. It's best to dress it the same day e.g. take a bath (with disinfectant) to soften the dressing and then replace with appropriate dressing.
