  1. Its the plastic casing going around the metal part that holds the ball
  2. Thanks I didn't take it seriously Rack is solid and secure with the piece off
  3. Thanks all, seem to have sorted this out. I tried lifting it but that doesn't work, the plastic is still in the way. Eventually I took the towbar and mount off the car to really see what was going on (instead of trying to look under it while holding it up). Turns out the offending piece of plastic can be unclipped, doesn't seem to do anything structurally and it (hopefully) just for aesthetics. As for the decent car comment, @ouzo I had rules and regulations to follow from the wife. Priority was Cost / 3 baby seats in back seat / boot space. Can't beat the Ford with those. I'm sure the obvious answer is a Fortuner, however the brown leather seats literally had the wife saying "negative"
  4. Thanks, will give the lifting a try. Load shedding has just started so I can't get out the garage #eskomproblems. I've also contacted Ford to see about a spacer
  5. Hi guys, Hope you're all well. My EasyFold XT3 just arrived and it doesn't seem to clip onto my Ford Everest towbar. Looking at it the problem clearly is that the Everest has a Towbar mount and then a tow ball (see image). When I mount the bike rack, there is some plastic that gets stuck on the mounting lip. Has anyone had this before and have any suggestions?
  6. Hello, this reply may be abit late, so apologies if you've already found a bike I'm too much of a rookie to jump into the 26/29 or hardtail/duel suspension debate, but just wanted to tell you my stuff. I pretty much took up riding about 8 weeks ago, and before that was also trying to do some research into what to get, and there were tons of conflicting answers (known as opinions). After some debate I bought this - Silverback Sola 4 - http://www.silverbacklab.com/upload/2011_website_SILVERBACK/sola4_14.htm (R6500ish). It's very entry level 29er. One of the main reasons I got it (besides it being mainly black \m/ ) was that it has some kind of air spring front shock, I'm not 100% sure of the actual terms for it, but at my weight (of 100kgs) it was advised that this would help. Anyways, I've ridden up to the blockhouse, all around Tokai forest, almost to Cape Point, around Camps bay and Sea Point, and have really enjoyed my ride. Crash.
  7. R6,200 from? (I'm in the WC)
  8. Thanks, really appreciate the time. And something new? I do like new things, basically means that I don't have to actually check the thing is in good nick, and it'll have a warranty.... Thoughts on: http://sport.takealot.com/sport/cycling-6636/titan-650b-sport-mountain-bike,29945423 (not sure i'd actually buy a bike from TakeAlot tho, but price/model is there) http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/giant-revel-0-2013?quicktabs_1=1#quicktabs-1 (not that they have medium, but i'm sure they could order)
  9. Thanks for the advice . I've been looking for large frames, so thanks for the advice that you fit onto a medium frame. So something like this - https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/67709-scott-scale-mountain-bike-for-sale/ or this https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/67531-giant-xtc-team/ (doesn't say size...) or this https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/67581-giant-terrago-for-sale-size-m/
  10. I have been looking at the classifieds, just not sure what to actually get in there...? (hence asking here...)
  11. Hello all Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. A friend of mine recommended I come and look here for a bike, however quite honestly most of it is Spanish to me and I'm not really sure what half of the things are, or what to get, or whats cool If one (or more) of you feels like assisting a newbie get off his feet that would be amazing. Here's the details of what I have and what I'm looking for, any suggestions, advice or links to ads? - Height - 1.82m - Weight - 100kgs - Type - Mountain bike for offroad rides (like jeep and single tracks) - Location - Cape Town (or within like 50km's) - Cashmoney - I have R5,000 I don't really have any preference of anything (wheel size, frame size, brands etc). Thanks in advance crashy
