    Pathetic SAS

I was actually going to let this post die a slow death but it seems as if somebody is waiting for me to do something. I'll just post this reply and then gladly ban myself. 1) I don't really care who the face/s behind a service provider is, if I feel I have reached a point where I have done everything a reasonable person is expected to do then I will air my opinion in a public forum. The fact that this is a lady seemed to really get the emotions going. Tuff ****. It was never a personal attack on her. 2) I did not just wake up and decide hey let's dish SAS today. Point in case - I have been trying to get my problem fixed since SAS was pushed on all at the beginning of the year. I have tried emails, query index link on site, contact link on site and also in person every single time I picked up my sticker. They won't recall the personal interaction as I have no issues with a problem in a system, I have a problem when a simple problem is not resolved. Oh I might be wrong, I believe on the last pickup I did talk loud and Fritz Pienaar actually said something about them addressing problem (can't recall the exact conversation). I'm still mystified as to why only my very first and very last email was responded to. Everything inbetween just disappeared? I'm not talking about 1 or 2 email. Will most probably never get an answer for this but where my polite little emails got nothing done my biting post did. 3) The problem is very elementary, to the point that it is basic IT stuff they teach at school and to this day nobody has provided me with a simple answer to my simple question - how do you design a DB that allows duplicate entries for values with enough unique attributes to implement foreign keys and contraints? The response from SAS is that I unfairly attached their system and that it is not a system problem. REALLY it must be the fairies then. To summarize - I attacked a dysfuntional system and those who designed it because in months they could not resolve my problem. Even if I was told to f off because that is the way it is but if I say nothing was done I mean nothing. So Bergbok you did, and won't see an apology because I don't own one (yes I know it speak of my character) Uniball well sorry to hear about your ****. If you really feel so strongly about teaching me anything you can communicate with me on threeships (at) webmail dot co dot za and maybe we can meet up Blackie you clearly registered to defend the ladies honour. It's just such a pity that it has absolutely nothing to do with this lady, or any other lady. Such a wasted effort but I'm sure she appreciated it. Don't know her but I'm sure she's very nice (the system remains crap) Well there you go. I'm now officially banned so please stop wasting hub real estate to tell me what you think my moral ethics should be. Rather spend the time asking how much it weighs, that it is cheaper somewhere else and in general just talking ****. Any comments about me or my character will gladly be taken off line at the above mentioned email address.

OK mine was not fixed in almost 3 months. I have every single email I ever send but I do not have to use these to defend my actions. Suppliers, no matter who or what, need to do what they are contracted for. If I'm to be banned for speaking my mind about crappy service from a service provider then cool, I don't spend my life on the hub like most. Ironic that my first request was very PC and polite as it should be and even then nothing was done. Then eventually when I'm pissed enough I post one rant and I get an immediate response and my email is received immediatly? Weird world this we are living in. Only reason the service provider comes out look 'good' is because all, except for my final action (the post), was not in a public forum. I fail how the fact that somebody has to resort to doing to to get any action gives the service provider hero status. SO HOW ABOUT THAT BAN NOW PLEASE. How does it work? Will I be informed via email or will I just be rejected next time I log on? Is there a disiplinitary, written warning or is it one strike and you are out?

    Pathetic SAS

Did resend the email, AGAIN And yes I understand how the system works and yes I understand why it supposed to be there and yes I do go and get a new sticker with every event and yes they do write down my board number everytime I collect my sticker and no it never gets fixed. Carla the initial rant was written tongue in cheek (almost) but with all due respect how difficult can it be to resolve a recurring problem? I accept that something might be wrong with the first try. I raise the issue and we fix it but with every new event the problem starts with entering 'No Board Number Allocated' (or something similiar). I raise the issue it does not get resolved. I go collect my sticker. No board number on the list. No problem we write it down and fix it. NO I DO NOT THINK SO. Honestly this rant was my way of saying you know what? I give up. Fix it, don't fix it I don't care really. As I eluded to in my original post the system has an inherint flaw - you should not be able to have multiple entries for the same records if you have one or more unique parameters. In this case both my ID and my Board Number should be unique. Well this is SA so I might be mistaken. Thanks for the response though, really appreciate it.

It does not realy show in my rant but I forgot to mention I'm REALLY annoyed
  6. I've never in my entire life (and I'm not young) seen such a pathetic system. This is something that is supposed to make things easier and is being forced on all whether you like it or not. Every single event I enter is the same ritual - I arrive to get my sticker, am informed that my board number is not on the entry, it gets written down, I get my board tested and off I go. I get a new entry on SAS for every single race. Same name, surname, ID and board number. I have send numerous emails, used the QUERY INDEX link, nothing, nada. Even on entering it says Board number not allocated. Try to get this fixed! So this got me thinking about a few things a) Why do people insist on having Contact Us, Query This or Query That links on a site if they are not going to respond? B) HTF with DB technology today do you manage to create duplicate records if you have numerous unique attributes i.e. ID number, board number? Even if I remove your complete brain the residue tissue left in your skull should be enough to use one unique constraint! c) Why, oh WHY are people like this allowed to breed? If I have managed to get at least some response to my queries over that past few weeks (even a F YOU would do) I would say, yes allow them spawn one bastard but now! I say castrate them all. That gene must be eliminated from the pool even if it only lives in the shallow end where people piss.

    Dual sus

You seem to know it all so let me summarize a) besides the fact that both have two wheels and a seat this is where the similarities between a bicycle and a motorbike stop. PM me and I can arrange a ride for you on a proper FS and a proper superbike. Then once you are finished I'll rip you panty so that your mommy can give you a good spanking when you get home b) you view regarding lockout is just that - YOUR VIEW. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion even if it is stupid. Maybe you should share your view with the engineers who design shocks, I have this funny suspicion that you will either be hailed a saviour or they'll laugh at you. I know the answer but will leave it up to you to find out. Now go inside. Playtime is over.
  8. Not if you have a slim ass' date=' big balls and still want to be faster- stupid comment![/quote'] Ek moet nog die funrider ontmoet wat nie vinniger kan gaan deur meer te oefen nie, either om fikser te word of better tegniek te leer. Ligte goed is n pleister wat net sover gaan dan is jy weer stuck. Jy gaan nie die 25 minute wat jy agter my was op die 80K race opmaak deur 2.5kg te shave nie. Vir pros wat alreeds on top of their game is en waar sekondes tel maak dit sin. Vir Jannie Swaarkry en Martie Dimpelboud is dit irrelevant.
  9. 1. yes training is the only solution to going up hills better. You can get lighter wheels, frame etc. but those are just band aids that can do nothing about your ability 2. look up and choose a line and gear ahead of the time on technical climbs. It is not like road climbs where you make adjustments easily on the fly. Choosing the wrong line on a technical climb could be the difference between walking/falling and riding. 3. ride within yourself. Keep a pace that is comfortable for you and don't try and chase stronger rides. It is ok in training as it will make you stronger but in a race they will most probably drop you going up and you will be wasted. Unlike road it is much more difficult to recover if the downhill after the climb is technical so try and stay out of the red. 4. try to stay seated and standing on steep climbs could result in loss of traction. 5. if you have to stop or walk get of the line so that those who can continue can do so. 6. there is more honor in climbing a hill slowly than in walking it. BUT some climbs are just not ridable.
  10. You don't mention alone or in a group but in my opinion any place without guarded, gated paid entrance is a risk. I won't put Klapperkop on the list when you are alone. They have fenced it to keep the zebras in but it is not gated and there are at least two entrances/exits that can be used without jumping the fence. In PTA Groenkloof - Group/Alone Voortrekker Monument - Group/Alone Rietvlei (not in JHB) - Group/Alone Klapperkop - Group
  11. Bunch riding is something roadies started to avoid doing any work. Oh and yes riding in the slipstream of a lady is something that will only ever happen in the Cape
  12. I think if you do a search you will find more incidents about broken/cracked spez frames than you would for Merida. Any frame can break. I've put 10,000 k's on my Merida hardtail with no issues
  13. What! You did not rebuild your own bike! Now you have ruined a perfectly good ending Glad to hear this about Merida. Hope I never need to test it.
  14. No ACSA does not handle the baggage, the airline contracts a baggage handler to do it. Irrespective the airline operator is still responsible for your luggage. Again a typical example if how the service providers in SA think they can get away with anything, and they do. Try contacting the Kulula HQ and post your complaint on hellopeter.com
