  1. Ok guys, thanks for the input. Magic up front and Razor out back...
  2. Hi Guys, I know theres a lot of these out there but I dont want to hijack anyone elses thread.. Im interested in some of your opinions (that means I need some advice) on MTB tyres. I think Im pretty set on Rock Razor on the rear (was considering the Wierwolf but Ive 99% decided on the Rock Razor) - Although this is not my main question, I welcome your opinions on this choice. Its the front that Im struggling with - Magic Mary or Hans Dampf? Shot !
  3. I work for The Laser Group who own both Time Freight and Dawn Wing. (But I don't work for Time Freight or Dawn Wing). I'd recommend Time Freight for this one (Time Freight is heavily involved in the cycling world - The Time Freight VELOlife Womans Team). Also Time Freight is more a road freight service provider vs Dawn Wing being an express airfreight courier (airfreight = more expensive). You may just have to box the bike yourself. Call them on 011 387 5600. Good luck.
  4. Great stuff, thanks Robodog. I leave tomorrow for conference in the Berg so may not get online again until Sunday. I really don't want to lose out on a potential good deal. If something that matches my required spec comes available, could you sms me? Ill send you my number. Thanks man...
  5. Howzit Robodog.. Any luck yet? Thanks.
  6. Thanks Robodog, let me know the details when you have some info please. 31.6mm dia / 400mm length (minimum) / 100mm drop (minimum) 125 or more would be better. Remote only. Shot.
  7. Robodog.. by the way, Ill happily take a recon-ed post if its the right spec and a good price. Thanks...
  8. Thanks Robodog, eagerly waiting some positive news...
  9. Robodog, how much stock is there available of 420mm / 125mm / 31.6mm ?
  10. Not too fussy about which brand as long as the specs are right and as long as it is a good one (taken the advice of not going cheap). Agree with left. I've only ridden with it on the left and above (on a friends bike), not below. Right doesn't make sense to me. Ill keep an eye on CWC, thanks...
  11. I suppose backup, service does count for something.. Just an update on Solomons, they told me that apparently Fox are no longer marketing the droppers in SA and they managed to buy the last stock which is why they were going cheap. Just what they told me...
  12. That was quick, precise, to the point. Any reasons for the strong opinion on Alero? Spoken to a couple of Solomons shops and all appear to be out of stock. Durban is going to try and source extras. Shot guys...
  13. Thanks for the further advice guys. Decided to not compromise and get something good. Skylark, Ill call Solomons now, DOSS would be my absolute first choice if its the right diameter and length. Price sounds too cheap though? Ill call them and let you know. Has anyone heard of and have some real opinions (based on experience or things you've heard from people who have used them) - of the brand Alero and specifically their dropper posts?
  14. Haven't tried it yet but I read in one of the mag's that toothpaste does the trick. I guess you just stick a bit in there, add water shake it up a bit and rinse a few times. Sounds healthier than chlorine, jik and piss.
  15. What you're saying probably makes sense in terms of waiting and getting the correct one. How far away is fathers day??!! Guys, thanks for the advice I really appreciate it. Let you know what I eventually get... Cheers...
